This adds so much to the vehicle. Really great level of detail and realistic cockpit feel. I can imagine how much back and forth it takes to make this all fit correctly. Really nice work.

As for the cockpit shell scans, they did help but not as much as I'd hoped. I really wanted to be able to use them to boolean the final cockpit interior with, essentially to cleanly and precisely slice off everything that didn't fit in the available space. Unfortunately, the scans were just too rough and too swiss-cheesy for me to make a practical use of it in that way. Instead, I used the scans to visually plan and lay out the parts and to trace a few paths for the floor board shape. It also made things like choosing how far to recline the seats a much easier task since I would otherwise have to rely on a lot more "tweak, print, and test-fit" cycling. So it was still quite helpful, but not the extreme shortcut I was hoping I could make it into. Thanks, the prints are not as clean as I want them to be yet and the designs are still pretty basic so hopefully you'll be blown away by the final design and a better/more carefully-cleaned print. Stay tuned!

Here are a few shots of the most-recent test print. I am working on finding the space to put in a HUD and instrument cluster for the pilot. Or at least as much of one as I can...
Looks pretty good, but the canopy can't quite close: I didn't bother to remove the vintage backpack peg from the seat design, so part of the crowding is due to the modern-era figures being pushed away from the seatback by those pegs. But even without the pegs, I've been pushing the pilot's seat pretty far forward in hopes of fitting the RIO in there without having to remove his lower legs. It's just not working, and in this set of photos I've had to remove the lower legs from both figures in order to fit them in. Just look at where the pilot's seat and head line up with the canopy sections. The pilot can't stay that far forward, and I'd like the space for some detail work up front anyway. Since the RIO needs to lose his legs, may as well take that space back for good use! I think I am going to make the RIO sit a bit more upright (which will pull that seat back a bit), pull the pilot's seat back significantly, and add a pilot's HUD/instrument panel for the next test to see how it all fits.

I tweaked my public restroom elements for printing at home to see how they would turn out. The finish isn't spectacular, but on the whole I'd say it worked reasonably well:
The back side is a little rough, but it doesn't need to be pretty here. These are both wall-mounted units so once you hang them up nobody will see this part anyway: ^^And that hole in the back of the crapper actually connects to the toilet bowl with a gooseneck. You could run water through the toilet and/or leave some in the bowl. Why? Beats me, but it was an easy addition so there it is. Most of the details survived the filament printer: There are some visible print lines, of course, when you make it a point to show them in the photo angles: And, just because...

Bummer about the scans. Yeah, I've had some angle limitations and scanning some colors are tougher than others. Mostly they get 80% solution. Supposedly jewelry scanners are better but I don't have that kind of money.

After my first print I will say the detail is amazing out of the box. BUt resin printing is way more a pain in the ass then FDM. I got a wash and cure station. Its just so much prep and clean up compared to FDM. I'll still do a lot of FDM work for diorama stuff and likely only resin print when I need the detail. I am happy with the resin printer but the colors are limited and the labor intensity makes me happy that I went FDM for a lot of stuff.
