In the waning years of the vintage line, I was only interested in collecting action figures, and so would only buy vehicles that came with drivers.
Owning the vehicles was actually a burden, as I had little room to store them in my tiny apartment. Nevertheless, I had the Blockbuster, Shark 9000, Detonator, Dino-Hunter, Starfighter, Sonic Boom Tank, both stupid Ninja Raider things, and both Power Fighters. All that stuff is gone now. The only vehicle from that era I still have is the Action Space Capsule. |

I have been watching some Sharc 9000 vehicles, I kind of like it for some reason. I have also been looking at the General and the '92 Headquarters. I think the Ninja Force vehicles are god-awful, but I really want the Red Ninja and T'Gin-Zu figures. The local toy store that I went to for most of the figures(except the Nitro Viper), House of Plastik, has a T'Gin-Zu minus the sword for $20 and I am tempted to buy it.
I know how you feel about being a college age toy collector. I was 21 when the Power of the Force Star Wars figures came out, and I started collecting them(they soon filled up my room in my apartment as well). It was weird being a 20s toy collector, although the 3 am Walmart runs to see if they have new stock was fun. Going into a store's toy department now in my 40s, you can say you are buying for your child. Going there in my 20s, I just looked like a stoner(which I was at the time anyways lol). I don't regret it though, I've always been a toy collector/reseller since then. Last edited by Goldchains; 02-06-2021 at 03:14 PM.. |

I miss my summer Saturday Joe hunts from the early 2000s - sure it was the VvV, Joe Vs Cobra, SpyTroops era but it was fun chain smoking camel lights and driving to the 5 or 6 TRUs in my area to see what I could find. That carried over a little into my mid 20s when the 25th anniversary stuff came out as well but I felt that was a little more rushed and not the same fun experience I had as a carefree college student on summer break. I do miss those days though. It's nice to see the Retro line give the Joe's a retail presence these days but the line itself has underwhelmed me both in all facets - the execution, the minimal product and very small waves of figures/vehicles being released. |

Bought a lot over the weekend which included a Tiger Fish that was mostly complete but the bar behind the driver's seat was broken. It has been a plan of mine for the past 5 or 6 months to restore a Tiger Fish that I acquired in another lot - the body is in good shape with no broken parts to the vehicle shell so this acquisition will help me complete the restoration much quicker than I thought as Tiger Fish parts - especially the motors seem hard to come by.
This will be my first restoration - might be my only one too but I am looking forward to it. |

More fuzzy pictures of my latest acquisitions. Funny story here: I went to one of my local toy shops to see what they had to offer. Smiley's Dolls and Toys had a nice Zartan for sale...for $200... I offered them $125 and they came back with $175. Well, I'm not paying that, and I told them so and walked out. So, infuriated, I went on to e-bay and got a complete Zartan with complete Chameleon and schizo filecard AND an extra backpack, mask, and gun AND a modern complete VVV Zartan with filecard for $90. Serves them right. I had the Buzz Boar and Televiper in my youth, so I had to buy those too. And I always wanted the MMS and Hawk, so I found a good deal on that one as well. I need to slow down I think.

Finally landed a triple win Spirit.
This one has been eluding me for a couple years. And it’s in fantastic condition: short funny rhyming poems

Picked up an incomplete Shark 9000. It's in good shape - the hull is clean. I am going to restore it over the next month or two.

Some more fuzzy pictures of recent acquisitions over the past couple of weeks. Was able to restore a Pac Rat Machine Gun that I got for cheap. Need a new wheel piece, the remote, and two of the red rings/gun pieces. Didn't cost too much, and looks cool on the shelf. The Zanzibar is dead mint condition, and is awesome.
