Hondo looks really good. I wasn’t super into MASK as a kid but it’s been growing on me over the years. And now you drop this and make me more interested. I’m running out of space and time in the day for another hobby haha.
Also, this Cyber Viper build has been driving me crazy haha. I’m close on a few ideas but I can’t settle just yet.

I didn't have much MASK as a kid, but always loved them, and I love it every time I see them in my favorite scale. Great job on Hondo. He was a MASK character that really stood out to me as a child, and you've made him stand out even more.
I and love the joke, credit goes to both Dod Ear for pointing out his ride and to you for telling it! He deserves to be angry! |

By the way this is all in good fun as Hit & Run and I go back and forth about this all the time. In reality it is an awesome custom and I've expressed to him many times being an 80s guy that I'm incredibly happy he made Hondo in this outfit b/c like ARBCO said it is in the best scale possible.

I use the excess blue that’s just sitting around the corners of the package, I don’t actually mix it with yellow. That way it seems to hold really well but I’m assuming I can pull it off if I ever need to. Quote:

Definitely drop me a message if you want to bounce ideas around or tips for the colors! Don’t see many customs of him so really excited for your take! Quote:

Haha, yeah, Dod Ear unexpectedly backing me up on the Hurricane vs Firecracker “debate” cracked me up so I had to do something with it! And thanks! Always appreciate the comments & toy talk! Quote:
I'm going to need all of you to stop encouraging Hit & Run with these colors. LOL. Hondo was an awesome character who was freaking cool and wore a sweet brown leather jacket, some green paints and brown leather boots.

Haha, yup, I’m finding it quite amusing to win you over on these odder color Joes & Masks guys that you skipped over one custom at a time. I was seriously going through my list trying to find someone to do without a bright accent or anything and I couldn’t really find one that would be a quick turnaround. Haha. As always, much appreciated! I know I did well on a custom when I get a lot of positive feedback on a version maybe everyone wasn’t the craziest about back in the day. This Hondo was always a favorite of mine so it’s pretty awesome to get to the point with customizing where I feel I did him justice.

Some of my other projects are taking longer due to painting and sculpting but felt like taking pictures so I grabbed one that I’ve had built for a long time, just never called “final” until now. Super easy formula so probably something similar put together by someone else at some point.
So if Street Fighter II Turbo was my real introduction to fighting games, Mortal Kombat is probably the series I’ve dropped the most amount of time into. Absolutely love the reboot series, the first movie is one of my favorites to just watch randomly and always enjoyed the games really starting with Mortal Kombat 3. So since because 3 was the first one I owned and got semi good at, I always leaned towards that direction when it came to the character designs. The line that went with the Joe’s I skipped entirely for whatever reason. Was loving the movie at the time and remember holding the figures in stores, just never had the urge to ask for them and even today I’ve only picked up maybe two because I found them cheap. So one of the characters I loved was Jax, thought he was cool in the original movie, then badass in MK3 and in Annihilation. Then I’ve been enjoying his new designs in the reboot series. So for my Jax, I sort of blended all of my favorite looks, metal arms, purple pants, commando style outfitt....then I had an extra Wayans head which actually worked for Jax so that topped off the look. Super easy build, no paint, chrome torso, purple armored pants, an armored vest, black bandanna and the Ripcord movie head. Jackson Briggs Jax (Mortal Kombat) This is really why he was pulled off the shelf, haha, just wanted to do some fun fight pictures. Haha.

I've said it before, but the "comic strips" that show case the customs at the end are my favorite part. Love all the effects and scenes. It's going to hard to surpass the Hondo joke in the last one though.

Haha, Dod’s Hondo joke is gonna be hard to top because i always kept the comparison of the Hondo’s to just the costumes. It wasn’t until he brought up the choices being tow truck or classic car that I legit got angry for how cheated my guy was all those years ago!
I did really enjoy my Resident Evil jokes too with the dialogue and running controls that people always complained about. Haha. Thanks! The comics are definitely huge to my productivy. Sometimes I’ll really want to paint something, other times I’m like, “meh.” Last weekend was definitely a thinking and not doing weekend custom wise so just having the itch to take some pictures was definitely the difference between a quiet week in my thread and having something to actually post. Always glad to hear the comic stuff is enjoyed because this one didn’t take long but some of them take a while to go from idea to setup, pictures, effects, combining, posting, cleanup, etc. haha. Doesn’t hurt to actually get to play with your toys a bit either.

Thanks! Have a Sonya Blade who is fairly simple like this one, just made from spare parts. Then ideas for two Shang Tsung’s which should be a bit more interesting and I want to make an unmasked Sub-Zero since he was my favorite. Do love a bunch of the characters though so like anything, start with a plan to make a few and end up making half the roster. Haha.
