Thanks, Yeet! Haha, I love it!

You really threw yourself into working the sculpting pieces here. Amazing work bro! I really like the break in neon with the creation of the blue head.
The taking down Battle Corps Wet-Suit scene is awesome as well and that firing the gun effect is insane. Love all your action scenes Haha, I love that Wet-Suit but he had to take the fall in this one. Agree, always love how the water backdrop and effect shots come out! Always great to hear people enjoy the extra steps that I take to get those types of shots in there, so much fun to take. Thanks! Haha, I use neon yellow so much because of this 90’s stuff that I don’t even mind it at this point, almost second nature. I think orange is what usually causes me pause.

At this point everyone knows I love a YoJoe deep dive to find something new to make and I’m always trying to find something interesting to take on and I think I found a good one with today’s custom. I had an extra 50th Zartan that I had planned on using for a cartoon accurate version, but it was going to leave him fairly similar to the official Hasbro releases, just mainly with different color pants. Then during a Sigma 6 dive which I always want to make stuff from.....I found Toxic Zartan!
https://www.yojoe.com/sigma6/toys/2007/toxiczartan/ Okay, now we have something! So in my apparent goal of never painting a Dreadnok normal colors, I decided on a Zartan who I felt would be a little different from what I had in official releases and who would also fit both with Cesspool’s crew and the 90’s style Dreadnoks I’ve already done. So full 50th repaint here. Purple for the armor, navy for the clothes, a little black, some chrome accents and then I gave his skin a metallic green wash (which unexpectedly gave him hints of gold after sealing) and applied his face paint a little sloppy with neon green. Really love how odd it came out! Haha. Need to test out the Boss Fight clear green zombie arms on him at some point to replicate the translucent arms & hands, wasn’t sure if the arm pegs were compatible though since I never tried BF arms on a Hasbro guy. I also need to get a good skull and crossbones decal for his chest, thought I had one from Marauder but it wasn’t on my one sheet. Sigma 6 Toxic Zartan Absolutely love how his head turned out: With my Zartan’s: With Zarana & Zandar: With Cesspool and his crew (which is who I display him with): Poor Clean-Sweep: And after seeing all of the crossover pics Flint & Axon take, I decided to show the Master of Disguise in action!:

I know nothing about Sigma 6, but you nailed the design. I actually like the bright neon colors on this one. As for bossfight arms I'm guessing you mean just the lower arms. Use the hot glue trick and they will fit in the Joe arms. The pegs are smaller than Joe pegs, but with the hot glue they will hold and still be moveable.

Toxic Zartan rocks!! You've shown repeatedly how you're more inclined to challenge yourself to create different and unique versions of various characters. Well, needless to say the 90's theme also tends to be part of that equation
It's funny because I immediately thought of your entry in Slice's previous custom contest, 90s Zandar and how he would really complement this Zartan version...then I saw a shot of the two with Zarana!! Great work man! |
