On a related note, I've been wondering something for a while ...
In 1988, Tonka made mini figurines based on the movie "Willow". Though I can only speak to what Queen Bavmorda and Sorsha (plus a couple creatures) are like. The queen looks quite nice, but is a statue, pure and simple. However, there are two versions of Sorsha. One connects to a metal stand, via little knobs on the bottoms of her feet. The other figure is firing a bow & arrow, while riding a cool horse. She can be removed from the saddle, but is too bow-legged (ironically) to stand on her own. Neither is a very good likeness of Joanne Whalley (who looked amazing in "Willow", btw). At any rate, did anyone here have these at the time (back in 1988)? And if so, did you like them? What was their purpose? Seems as if they would have limited playability/appeal for children? (Doesn't help that, best I can tell, the movie wasn't hugely popular.) |

I saw a sticker book at Walmart full of Classified-style art, mostly characters released so far like Cobra Commander, Scarlett, Roadblock and Red Ninja, and it got me thinking that this line feels like it was supposed to be bigger than it is.
Maybe it was a Covid interruption, but it feels like this was supposed to be a massive relaunch, maybe with a TV show and comic or something, then just kind of fizzled out after the first few Classified figures hit. I know there's a game or something to tie-in, but as of now, Retro seems to have completely stolen it's thunder. |

For the love of god, Hasbro will release anything except good old fashioned 1/18th scale figures. Quote:
True. But let’s be honest, there’s still Joe collectors that’ll wait for these to hit clearance.

Picked these up at Dollar Tree, they are awesome! Army men scale and kinda bendy. Very nice little toys with fantastic sculpting. Great for a buck!
