I find it interesting that this did not fund. The company seemed to earned a bit of goodwill being the first to deliver on the long MIA kicks like Eagle Force or Hell Screamerz then launched a pretty successful Sectaurs line, but couldn’t fund the second wave. Was the total number of backers for Wave 1 so small that any amount of non returners for Wave 2 doomed wave 2. Any theories as to why this failed? I’m sure some might say Kickstarter fatigue, but wave 1 was launched, funded and delivered at the height of Kickstarter fatigue...
- I believe this KS had a much higher funding goal. Makes it harder to do and discourages people from jumping in. - Holidays are a bad time to add extra expenses (although the timing may have had to do with other factors like a possible expiring license for example). - There is a lot going on in America. A lot of people who pledged at leisure before may have been focused on other things. Everything I know about Zica is great. I suspect a lot of this was out of their hands. I’m sorry that their last 2 KS projects haven’t worked out and I hope they bounce back and get some effective use out of that tooling they’ve invested in. The fact he did *zero* advertising for it once the KS opened was a significant contributor to the failure, imho. Chris seems to be a shy dude; but you gotta have a rabble-rouser showman to get the dollars.

He mentioned no coverage on the Fwoosh forums and didn’t understand why. Hell if it wasn’t for a handful of us pushing it here there would have been no mention on the Tank either. Seems he thought it would advertise itself. I pushed it hard and I love Zica. I’m just real disappointed we won’t get to at least complete the “vintage” figures.

Did he ask the Fwooshers to cover the KS or assume they would?

I think he assumed they would. The comment was something like “it isn’t being covered on the Fwoosh forums but I thought it would”. Again, not exact wording but that’s the jist. I’m just real sad.

The Dargon figure from this line is one of my favorite figures period. I got two each of this line and the Comic Adventure Heroes. And a few extra of the troop builder figures. I hope ZICA makes more of each line.
