Well, I finally scored a Defiant back in the Spring. Sadly, the seller didn't pack it very well so one of the last few without broken gantry doors arrived with numerous cracks and broken pieces. I got a $200 refund out of him and set to cleaning and repairing.
She finally took her place "underground" next to the PIT, all cleaned up and mostly repaired and complete. I'm missing one big gun, and the big gun's chair has a broken tab. Another broken mounting point up top for one of the smaller guns is the only remaining problem area. The repairs look good. I even managed to repair the spring mounting brackets by reinforcing with metal clips, so she can raise and lower under her own (still very squeaky) power (though I still underestimated just how huge she is, and I can't display her deployed). I figured I was pretty much done for a while. The only thing I was missing was the MCC, but those are floating around regularly and I wasn't in a rush. Then I found a good deal on a 100% complete (minus blueprints) vintage MCC! So there we go. Aside from an occasional figure, and allowing for whatever the Snake Eyes and future films might bring, my Joe collection is essentially complete! That's kind of a weird thing to say. |

I still love to just look and stare in awe at your collection and the PIT is fine as hell. If I had a room like that with a tremendous Joe collection like yours, all I would need for my life to be complete is an air mattress and a GI Joe bedset and I would make that room my final resting place.

Thanks for the great comments. I consider myself very fortunate, it's the culmination of a lifetime dream, and I never want to take my "little" hobby for granted. Fortunes can change and I may have to sell it all tomorrow, but it's fun while it lasts!

This is an amazing set up to say the least! I'd never seen the inside of a Pharaoh's tomb before! AND, I'm going to "borrow" your Pitt idea, I think.....

An out of town friend asked for a tour of my Joe collection, and I figured there'd been some small updates so I stuck it here for those who are interested.
