Am I the only one that is absolutely insulted by this retro line? There is nothing retro about it. They are just taking old production figs (that didn’t sell) and repackaging. I see all these other old toy lines with their retro series and they are knocking it out of the park. Kind of pisses me off. Once again Hasbro has cheaped out on us joe fans. What’s so hard about giving us a true retro line? Give us the old school swivel arm/O ring fig. Ohhhhhhh wait, duh, that means they would have to spend some money and effort to do that. Silly me. I could only imagine if they did do the swivel O’s those things would fly off the selves. Not just because of collectors but also young kids. While I don’t kids, a good chunk of my friends do. Their toy boxes are filled with their dads old toys and their new toys. Whenever I’m playing with them I notice they always get frustrated with modern toys and their 6 million points of articulation (don’t get me started about the 20 pointless accessories that don’t even fit in hands and such). The figs never stand up. They are constantly fighting the articulation just to play with them. So they toss to the side and grab a goid old 80s and the play never stops. I just wish Hasbro would go back to making toys and stop trying to cater to a collector like me. Go back to your roots, “keep it simple stupid”. A joe with a hand full of articulation points, a paint scheme of 2-3 colours (not counting flesh) and accessories that just consist of a backpack and a gun. I think going this route could usher in a whole new youth era of joe fans and still keep collectors excited. Ohhhhhh and one last thing.........stopping calling them 3.75”, they are 4”. It’s an insult to one of the greatest 80s toy lines.

Agreed! I trimmed the cuff off the Retro gloves and Dremelled a hole through the cuff to allow the articulated RB hands to fit through to the forearms.

But hell Hasbro, those packages are flimsy as hell... the cards are as thick as baseball cards and the bubbles practically fall of with the slightest pressure |

They cheat us out of a true retro line (like scarlets gloves and putting a V2 style snake eyes head on V1 style body) and cheap out in the packaging.

If you receive a damaged card/bubble from Walmart because they don’t care enough to ship correctly, contact them on the website chat. They will refund you and let you keep the figure. My wave 1 Storm Shadow bubble was crushed and completely detached from the card. They shipped it in a bubble envelope. I got to keep him and got a full refund, easy.

Sorry for being so needy on my first-ever post, but I'd take your extra Scarlett if you're willing. I've got a seven-year-old who's stoked to finally have his own Joes (instead of getting yelled at for always touching Dad's originals) and he's got a bit of a crush on Scarlett... and she's been tough to find.
Thanks! |

If you go back about 300-400 posts in this thread, then you will see the O-ring fan rage when the Retro line was shown to be 4" modern era Joe's. If you go back about 200 posts, you will see the modern era fan rage then they revealed another release of O-face Duke. I think all of us have felt as you do now at some point. I am now in the acceptance stage, and have resigned to just using this Retro line for Custom Fodder. I've been able to use parts from these figures to make a crapload of customs. The good thing about O-ring figures is that so many were made in the 80's and 90's, that you can still get them fairly easily. Feel free to vent all you want. We Joe fans feel ya!!!
