I liked this line, and they made for easy customs. Dollar General should look into doing another run.

I really loved the Duke figure. Made him into grunt pretty easy. Just got the web gear from Breaker. Grunt could be an easy redo for the retro line.

I think a basic figure with a single weapon and blank stand was a great idea, especially for troops. I think specific retail chain exclusives is a terrible idea, whether it be Dollar General, Target, or Walmart. There are always areas where specific chains don’t exist. Brick and mortar stores have always been close to my heart but the for the past 10 years retail stores they’ve all done a shit job of putting product on shelves.

The Shipwreck figure was my jam from this line. I bought so many of him for customs. One of my favorite versions of Shippy, actually made him into a cool character instead of a Village People left over.

I loved the line and I wished it had continued. There could have been so many cool possibilities - resolute scarlett buck in black and gray with a different head (to be similar to cancelled city strike figure) and even have the same wrist blades; throw an armor vest and helmet on the black (w1) or blue(w2) cobra trooper and you have alley viper and/or viper army builder; BAT maybe with smaller weapon selection; at this point something with the ultimate roadblock or 50th gung ho buck. Plenty of possibilities.

I bought every Cobra Officer (“trooper”) and Duke figure I found (I use Duke as a generic “green shirt” soldier). I also got 30 extra of the black and silver CCs and converted them into Shadow Guard soldiers.
I think a line of various Cobra troopers with minimal paint applications and gear, combined with some generic military soldiers (medics, MPs, infantry, sailors, etc) would be a total win. Another thing that was great about the DG line was that each set of them was in stores for quite a long time, making it easier to find them. One of the worst problems with some of the more recent offerings is that they are distributed in such narrow windows of time that a store might only receive one or two orders of them before the next wave hits |

I enjoyed that line. It was so nice to find figures on the shelves and the molds they made, That Duke and Black Cobra Trooper was outstanding. Hell i got both Colors for Duke lol

The Dollar General Joes were great! I found out about them a little late, but didn't have any trouble finding all of them by going to just a few stores. It was really nice feeling just seeing them stocked at retail. Hoping they do another basic run at Dollar General soon.

The DG line was almost perfect to bring kids back to Joe. I oftentimes think they should bring them back using the Adventure Team. Same builds, different colors and gear for the mission. Or as a troop building line.

I actually found some DG figures at a TJ Maxx back then.
I read it somewhere here at the 'Tank the DG Joes weren't even suppose to come out. But some renegades released it under management's control.
