Regular readers of this thread will know that Storm Shadow is a figure that I have been wanting to do for a while. He is such an iconic character that I wanted to do him justice and kept rejecting every build that I tried. I will probably continue to tweak the figure, but at last I have a version that I am happy to have on my MTF shelf.

Nice new ones. Oktober Guard isn't really my thing, but I like that Red Star.

Three new releases and three home runs!
My favorite part is your addition of the white wraps to Storm Shadow. It’s subtle but extremely beneficial to the character.

Another great batch!
Haha, sorry, I needed Snow Job out ASAP because that bag filled of John Wick heads were calling to me! Love how yours turned out, splitting the thigh strap was a great idea. Always wondered how that would look, I just always have so few of those so I never really experimented with them. Looks great all geared up using that head. Loving Captain Red Star, need to revisit mine and add the jacket camo. Noticed the card art & figure didn’t match paint wise too, made the same decision since I really loved the toy growing up. Camo, boots & red line all came out great on him. Another where you did an awesome job gearing him up. That tan German was a great base figure to recreate him. Glad you have a Storm Shadow that you like! He works great with those parts, really like how the black accents pop so well of off of the white body parts that you used. Such a great design so always awesome to see different variances on it.

Something 'just right' about the Red Star - great job.
Really like the SS build. The wraps are great and clever use of the Contractor-ops upper t-shirt torso. |

Such a great design so always awesome to see different variances on it. I did have a redder brown for the camo on Red Star which I thought would better match the original but thought the more muted brown would look better. There is a grove running down the leg of that German figure so fairly easy to paint a straight line down it (even if it does not look like it from some angles due to the folds on the leg). So glad to have a Storm Shadow on my MTF shelf now, such an iconic character that I remember from my childhood. Quote:
I really wanted SS to have wraps rather than a more modern booted figure. I didn't think I was going to be able to make him using MTF parts but when I hit open the torso solution I had to keep trying. Thanks, I almost don't consider the 25th one to be Red Star it looks so different to the original figure (and dated 25th parts)! |

AF, great stuff, was waiting for your Cobra Commander with the German blue body, works mighty fine! Diggin’ Storm Shadow MTF, the one and only ninja in your Joeverse! ;) He looks awesome, love what you did... always love your Oktober Guard builds, these are no exception and Law, now that’s a figure, much better than the FSS one floating about which I do not own but from the pictures it could of been better, awesome order too, much better than the FSS one also, anyways awesome work as usual, big thumbs!

Yeah those MTF dogs look great, puts anything Hasbro’s done dog wise to shame!
And yeah, those FSS prices are a joke, I’d rather make my own too, I do wanna still get some of the Action Force FSS ones though, but that’s about it. Last edited by LEEE777; 12-07-2020 at 08:03 PM.. |
