Duke is a colossal fail. At least there is still this old thread:
https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...s-here-20.html I'm still thinking there must be something connected to which parts trees go together or something. I mean there has to be a logical reason why the Hasbro team cannot figure out that fans want a Duke figure using the Retaliation 3-pk Firefly body. So, I expect Duke to be a huge peg warmer. Lady Jaye is exactly what I expected. My issue with the presentation is that Mustache keeps acting like he had something to do with the sculpt, especially when he compares them to the new Classified figures. Hopefully the new paint apps will do justice to the 50th Lady Jay head sculpt. Cobra Commander is also what I expected. Not necessarily what I wanted though. I was hoping for a dark blue & gold hooded Cobra Commander. But I'm not mad at all at the reissue of the exclusive Missile Command figure. I kind of like that chest piece with the molded back to hold the gun. Jason |

Yeah, you wonder how hard it is for the Hasbro team to realize that collectors do not want that old 25th sculpt.

I think I'm done with Retro figures (unless they get around to re-releasing that SDCC red Jinx). I wanted a good 3.75" Duke and Scarlett and what we got was a Scarlett head.
It's probably for the best. Dealing with Walmart's preorder, cancel, back up for order, ship everything out of nowhere model is kind of not fun.

Totally forgot about the reveals until just now.
I actually can't help but laugh at how insanely off the mark they are with that Duke. I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall for the decision making process for that figure. Either every person in charge of the retro line is a complete fool, or they're straight up mocking us. I also wish Cobra Commander would've been a darker blue, but I guess I should just be thankful they didn't just release the 25th mold again. Seriously, are they just making fun of us, while taking our money? I really think we're all being mocked at this point. |

You can look at today’s reveals and see that 6” is getting their maximum effort. The designs look great and well executed. The Retro Line is simply re-packaging stuff we already have and not even putting forth the minimal effort to choose the right parts. They could actually make some great kit bashes with a little effort and maybe a new head or two. It just feels lazy to see a 25th repack like Duke.

After todays reveals, I can honestly say I'm done collecting new stuff. Scarlett is the only figure worth getting out of this retro series. She was the only one done even close to remotely right. (not counting re-issues like Destro cus while he is a good ultimate figure, he's been released before - so nothing new that we haven't already gotten.)
That Roadblock and Duke are complete crap, especially that Duke. It's clear Hasbro is not taking any of this or their fans seriously. Looks like I can at least save a bunch of money now that I'm out. P.S. This is what Duke and Roadblock should have looked like....well more or less.

I didn’t see the stream, did he say that? I was thinking that weeks ago.

I think it’s more of seeing where their focus is.

They could actually make some great kit bashes with a little effort and maybe a new head or two. It just feels lazy to see a 25th repack like Duke. Wave 1: Why does Snake Eyes have the wrong head that doesn't match the card art, when the right head came with this very body previously? Why did they use the wrong entire figure for Storm Shadow, when the Ultimate Storm Shadow was available? Wave 2: Why use the Roadblock lower body with poor articulation, and then call it out during the video? Why pay for a new head that is a shrink of the Classified head? Why retool the FANG instead of just rerelease the excellent 25th version? WTF is up with the pilot figure, who again does not match the original box art? Why create a whole new pilot instead of doing a new paint job on the POC Cobra Trooper/Officer that everyone loves? (Other people don't like the parts choices for Scarlett, but i don't mind it at all.) Wave 3: Duke and CC as we've discussed to death today. I'm totally fine with repacking old figures with minimal changes. Snake Eyes (99%), Destro, and Lady Jaye are great Retro figures. But why these choices for the other figures? Hasbro must have its own reasons for these decisions--Mold availability? Cost to produce?--but they are totally opaque to us on the outside and seem to follow no logical thread. With each wave I am just mystified by the decisions. If I didn't know better I would think they are trying to jerk us around.
Wave 3 is the first wave I'm not bothering to preorder. Between the preorders being cancelled and the ones I'm getting being smashed, it is just not worth it. Plus, I really don't think this lackluster wave will be hard to find in the store.
