Well, clearly someone had the authority to sell the site. Either the Admins of Yojoe signed into something they didn't understand or failed to do their due diligence on where their ownership of the site and content landed.

So I agree with the posts on here that are basically saying it's their own fault, they should've known better, and they get what they deserve. Here's the thing though:
IT DOESN'T MATTER. The means that got yojoe.com in the situation it's in make no difference. The only thing that matters is that a site that we all love, that I have loved and gone to since the VERY FIRST DAY I had internet access at home, is in jeopardy. We need to do what we can to save it, regardless of whatever bad decisions got it into this mess. |

Thing is, most of the GI JOE fan sites that were online in the 90's are gone now. Yojoe's old links page is at least half dead links.
So nothing lasts forever. It sucks, but fans need to work on a replacement, because that's probably the only option left. |

HOWEVER. It would still be a pity to lose YoJoe.com

The site has obviously not been updated in ages, but is it really in danger of the existing content being taken down?

I had been wondering for while why they stopped updating the site. I’m not on Facebook so I wasn’t aware of any of this.

I posted earlier on this thread - I have a connection to yojoe.com that goes back to 1998 so I would say I have just as much vested interest in keeping the site around even if just for archival purposes. With that said The owner(s) of the site decided to sell it off for profit, perhaps they did not read the fine print when they were counting the $$$. If there is a supposed breach of contract between the former owners and vertical scope as for conditions of the sale then you would think they would bring it to court. Was the Joe fanbase considered when the site was sold off?
For ARAH fans I can't recommend 3-D Joes enough - just an all around amazing site and the owner has a true passion for that era of GI Joe and keeping it around. |
