Nice work!! You've made that AWE Striker look even more retro looking with the new stickers. Huge fan of the Action Force line since that was also the first 4" action figures I owned as a kid in the 80s. Your thread always brings back fond memories

Thanks, I really wasn't expecting to get all these comments for quite an easy custom, I just wanted to show what it could look like.

Thanks, retro is what I am all about, it has to remind me of my childhood in the 80s. Glad I can bring back those fond memories for you. |

Yup, apart from reading a fan-made story have no idea on the character either lol, we’ll get to read them stories sooner or later I guess... looks a cool character though! Great Z-Force Awe, you done it perfectly, beat me to it, still haven’t got around of getting my spare retro one out the box yet haha, as you know I dig the ATC red ‘n’ black strip on it a lot and your Z-Force Marauder customs look stunning in it, fricking awesome job as always man! Those who follow my GI Joe customs thread will know that the head I used for Mr C I initially had planned for a character in this thread, and this was the character. A new figure for the Red Shadows based on the Mortal Kombat figure Jax. As Mr C is still on my shelf I initially was going to do another head the same but decided to try a new hairstyle. The arms are from a recent BAT which I cut off and attached to the t-shirt upper arms (they are a very similar shape). Unfortunately the way I did it meant that once I attached them I lost the swivel functionality at the bicep (the hands still swivel below the elbow) so the arms only move up and down, but for someone with cybernetic arms I can live with that concept. I was tossing around various names from my list (I was thinking some variant of Red Handed might be appropriate for him), but in the end decided on Red Dragon as I thought it sounded cool and had a Mortal Kombat vibe to it.

Ever since I did my John Shepherd custom (from the Black Major origin story) earlier in this thread I wanted to do Sgt Dillon to go with him. I didn't want him to have the same body so when I saw the white German Panzer Grenadier I thought that would work. I was trying a new camo technique to make the lines less distinct and add areas of dots around them which may be better in real life but not sure it works on a toy (it does look better in hand than what the camera picks up, or perhaps that is just my old eyes!).

What sticker sheet did you use for the Awe Striker? Forgot to ask, love how yours turned out though and wanted a different look than just another Joe one for mine.
Red Dragon looks great! Name works perfectly and that’s an awesome build! Using the BAT arms were a great idea for a Jax type character. Head looks terrific too. Have to take pics of mine, I have a simple MK3 style version built but never finished the Sonya I had to go with him. I love the camo style on Sgt Dillon, looked him up when you first mentioned him and wondered if you’d do the camo. Looks cool with the new technique, makes it unique while also still being a really clean paint job. Definitely a possibility for my final white German, be a fun camo style to mess with. Haha, the icicle pic is great!

Haha, the icicle pic is great! Sticker Sheets Menu The large Z Force logo on the front and the Flags are from Cobra Stickers (as they were called when I bought them), the rest are from the site above, except for the red and black stripes I added to tie into the Z Force ATC which I made myself. There are some sheets with those stripes on the above site, but I didn't have any to hand so I decided to make them to make sure they fitted correctly. I have used BAT arms from the new sculpt era (which are cheaper) for my Atomic Man custom but wanted to try some newer BAT arms as I hoped for better articulation. Be good to see your version of Jax, for a Video Game version I guess you could make one with BFS parts. I felt Sgt Dillon needed to have the camo. An icicle pic was a must to tie him into his comic appearance. Thanks, there is more AF goodness to come. |

I have been avoiding Q Force with the MTF figures but decided to give one a go, I started out making Leviathan but he slowly evolved into Surfer. I have always thought of Surfer as the trooper guy in Q Force (although he had a very specific role in his bio) so I could gear him up a bit more.
