This is a message board, right? It is used for discussing things, right? This is why I say some of you people on here are Hasbro employees. Can we not talk about things if they are somewhat negative about Hasbro? The only people whining on here are you and the others constantly whining about posts they don't share the same opinion with. You guys only like posts that read like this:
"Hey guys, can we please talk about just how perfect this new line is and how absolutely perfect every single figure is." Not all posts are going to be that. Deal with it. And I have bought new guns for my figures off of Bobby Vala. But the point is I should not have too. I bet there are others here, like me, that would appreciate it if we didn't have to order our guns separately and spend more money.

I'm saying there is a transitional period. It was never known as Action Force here, it has no relation to what Palitoy was doing. It was evidently Action Man from around 1983 to 1986, where it shifted over to being GI Joe, same as everywhere else. That Action Man line was a low key line that was on very few people's radar and as I've demonstated, you have to go digging around Yojoe's international section to find records of it's existance. |

Given that DiC is a Canadian company I'll give you a little more info on the laziness of Hasbro's "Internationalization" of GI Joe here (in Canada). They never bothered at an point to change the package branding, it was always A Real American Hero. They did however change some of the stickers. Everywhere there was an American flag or country branding is was switched to Canada and the Canadian flag. As a kid that grew up on the border this made for a crazy collection where half my vehicles had Canadian flags and half were American. Paint aps on figures weren't changed though so I had a mail away Slaughter with USA on him and a Triple T tank with a Canadian flag.
But DiC did go on to change the theme from Real International Hero to Got to Get Tough, which is just wrong if you ask me. Most of the internationalization never bothered me though. Why is it the exclusive domain of the US military to guard against an international terrorist organization determined to take over the world? Isn't that a global threat? Shouldn't that be more of a UN thing. I don't mind the globalization but having them all specifically be American never bothered me either. |

This is absolutely incorrect. American soldiers are still referred to as "GIs" or "Joes" all the time. You still hear "GIs" especially on TV. I used the bar example earlier because just a few years back I was with some military friends and the guy literally said to me about a bar, "There are a lot of Joes in here."

I still can't believe Zandar isn't on the official characters page along with his sister. Road Pig made it. Road Pig. And Zandar didn't.
Zarana is still Zartan's sister and not marketed with Zandar in the slightest. Not that it will make a difference, but I need to write letters to Hasbro. At least I can feel like I'm making a difference that way.

However, I do agree Zandar is underrepresented/underappreciated. Fortunately, as we've seen with Beach Head, being on that web page is not necessarily determinative of receiving an action figure.

Thanks for the info. I legit laughed at the part where you said Slaughter had USA on him but the Triple T had Canadian flags. This is what I am talking about is bothersome and so stupid. Hasbro doesn't do a good job here and then it makes their product just look dumb. I thought it was fine what they did in the 90s with the 12" figures where they had some waves of soldiers from around the world. Or like with the October Guard in the 80s. But to try to make the entire brand some international deal and still call it something that only refers to Americans is just, like you said, Slaughter with multiple different flags. Just silly.
