This is a good way to think about it. I really hope the line succeeds. The sculpts and the backstory are really good.

https://www.hisstank.com/forum/toys/...screamerz.html Correct me if I'm wrong, but he didn't personally take any orders/money for wave 1 figures. The pre-orders were done through online retailers. He decided not to do crowdfunding and put the line out with his money. Some of those retailers never paid for product. Some may have overestimated how much they could get their hands on. I paid for my pre-order up front with Locker Toys. I recieved my wave 1 order fairly early. Places like BBTS don't take money until product is in hand. He's trying to get stuff out, but it's a different situation from some of the KS lines that have been delayed. Quote:
RIGHT?!
Those are nice figures, but if he expects American customers to support any future waves, he better get busy fulfilling the orders that have been on backorder. It's crazy, he'll post on Facebook about having some generic, blank-type figures available, yet I'm still waiting on Virginie. Also, each time I email him about ordering some of the blank figures, I get the same response that he'll get back with me on the total price including shipping. He never does though. So, when I email him back, he tells me they are all now sold out. It's not a very good business model. Jason

Basically, it seems that you have a professional artist/designer trying to get a toyline off the ground in his spare time. It's not unlike the Kickstarter projects we've seen in this scale. Some manage to get through smoothly, while others struggle for years to get them through. Maybe this line has had factory problems, but I imagine it's also suffered from the creator's inexperience and perhaps over-exacting standards. Seems like some of the hold-up with the initial wave was that he rejected the quality, but then some of that stock ended up getting sold anyway and I haven't seen people complaining about it. So who knows.
This line reminds me a lot of early Acid Rain, which is also the work of one artist/designer. In the early years, he struggled with the production rate (again seemingly due to exceedingly high standards). Ultimately, where the line has really got going was when he finally partnered with an experienced toy company (Toys Alliance). As a result, in the past few years, the production cadence has really picked up, so much so that you routinely see comments now on posts telling them to slow down! As far as Planet Green Valley goes, with a creator that is so strong on the design/ideas side, but weak on production, my hope is he eventually partners up with an established toy company. Last year, it seemed like he was almost ready to throw in the towel over production frustration. What gives me optimism is that he keeps banging out great designs and keeps putting the line out there at toy shows. With all the buzz this line generates, you'd have to think toy companies have and continue to approach him about a tie-up. And I hope he takes someone up on it eventually. |

Its good to see that the Mind Controller figures are slowly making their way to customers.
Has anyone who ordered through BFS received any update on the PGV figures? I received a couple but am still waiting on the Mind Controller and Virginie.

He did produce the first wave. Tooling for two figures were damaged. They been slowly leaking the last two figures. Different people have different expections. In another thread for a different line, people wanted more updates to show the line wa still moving forward, even though the factory was at reduced capacity due to Covid.

It was something he was doing to get product out, since the factory was either shutdown or at severly reduced capacity. It would be nice to be able to order them through a retailer, at normal prices. It's been a complete mess with Chinese production from shutting down for the New Year to COVID, but I would hope that production has been rolling on the final Virginie figures or we are going to coming up on another Chinese New Year shut down in Feb 2021. I received some of my figures from them but not all. Last I checked, it still shows as an open order with them. I suspect they will let us know when they know more.

we have been informed by the factory that, if there are no accidents, they expect to complete production of Lin by the end of December at the latest, but Virginie have not given a specific time frame for completion. |

I unfortunately ordered the two that have been delayed: Mind Controller and Virginne. I ordered from a smaller company and have not gotten either. They recently received notice that they were
getting something from the creator. Could be Mind Controller or even some of the other wave 1 figures. |
