Omg I didn’t know these existed. I love them. They are expensive but what can you expect for such small volume manufacturing. It really seems like Hasbro just does not know how to manage GIJoe, it’s their own property. No licensing fees etc. Of course they should offer O ring retros on old style cards. Us losers will vacuum them up.

It's because you're posing wrong. Push his upper torso back and tilt his head down and he'll have proper posture

Seriously, though, the figure's neck hole is angled forward from his clavicle. Why is that? Why are some m-e figures designed this way?

Not knocking Joshz with the original comment because I dont know him and dont know his situation so not my place. However, I often wonder if those that prefer the old stuff over the new stuff as far as saying better detail, etc is just their way of easing the mind because they couldn't find the stuff or couldn't afford it.I thought they are crazy to prefer the oring. 25th and anything after that has a lot more detail and I like them being poseable.
The 25th-50th line also offered very little in the way of new sculpt vehicles that were better suited to the 4" scale figures. The 2011 VAMP and HISS are both incredible re-imaginings of their vintage counterparts and are superior in every way - they are truly great vehicles intended for the ME scale (4") figures - I have them both and think they are awesome. No one is really clamoring for a mole Pod though if you catch my drift. So much of the modern era in terms of vehicles was dependent upon the ARAH vintage vehicles and most times there was no consideration put into place to accommodate the larger figures (the Skystriker cockpit being a notable exception). So I do find it funny that when arguing the ARAH vs. ME that vehicles are never really dragged into the fight because ME depends heavily on the vintage molds for the vehicles. The vintage figures fit pretty much all of the re-released vintage vehicles better than ME figures. Alot of my vehicle collection for my ARAH figures are actually the re-releases from the 25th anniversary and onwards of the original vehicles. I guess my point is every collector is different. We all have different wants, a personal vision of our joe-verse or simply different reasons why we collect. I have run the gamut - being a kid during the ARAH era, collecting the RAHC collection in 2000/2001 right on through the new sculpt figs of 2002-2006. Jumped right in to the 25th anniversary line and stuck with the modern era construction until Hasbro ended the run in 2015. I had the funds and the interest in the ME line but over time I felt that my collection should revolve around vintage ARAH for the most part. Now I am back to to where I began with a sprinkling of the "retro" figures if they pique my interest. |
