I feel like the death was really not done well. The ninja who could stab Scarlett without killing her earlier in the marvel run now charges at serpentor rather than just throwing the grenade back. It seemed unnecessary and stupid. Which snake eyes isn’t.
But there’s a solution. If snake eyes and leadership, knowing the whole serpentor thing was a lousy idea sure to go wrong, realized it was a good opportunity to stage his death in order to go deep undercover and off the grid for a really important mission. What mission? Well the obvious mission would have been to finally once and for all put an end to the blue ninja central robot. Since, the blue ninja had intel on the joes and cobra, snake eyes could be tracking down the central computer off the grid and waiting until he had the information and opportunity to take the blue ninjas out permanently. Normally bringing characters back might cheapen the original story, but in this case the retcon would actually elevate the original writing. Rather than be a senseless and ignorant move on snake eyes’ part, it would be part of a well planned mission to eliminate a dangerous enemy.

I feel like this would fix/make up for some of the biggest problems with the book. Explains why the need for fake eyes. Almost makes it ok for the blue ninjas to have been around so long. I could live with the book if it turned out this way. If not, just a train wreck.

Cover Showdown: Cover D wins in my book. Cover A, the newstand, cover is an issue behind.
Sandstorm the coyote makes his character debut. The spread scene...THE FRIDGE IS THERE! That's two debuts! RAPID FIRE...THREE, ah-ah...three debuts! Slaughter is there, too. Rock & Roll never forgets. Stalker breaking down and supported by Duke and Scarlett was very effective. Yes, I can praise this comic. The real Rumbler...debut? Cannot remember. Colorist mixed up the Mauler and MOBAT colors. The ghost of the Vector appears to pay respect. Spirit kicks Sandstorm out of the JOE team. Overall: Great final send-off to Snake-Eyes and a great final issue to Hama's ARAH saga. Oh, crap, there's more after this? |

Yup works for me.
But instead we will get Mainframe, Lady Jaye and Psyche-Out sipping coffee and Cobra Commander sitting on a throne literally just to sit. |
