For the Prusa, it looks like possibility faster printing, direct-drive extrusion, and a bit better resolution and stability at the cost of a little print volume. Seems interesting, but the price tag isn't too enticing for a cheapskate like me. Is it really worth 3-4 times as much as the Ender 3 Pro? Exactly how much better/faster is it? I've considered buying a second printer but I can get a new Ender 3 Pro for $200 in-store right down the street so the Prusa would have to be miles better to be worth the extra hundreds.

Since my supply of brown filament has dried up, I am moving back to the Skystriker F-14D upgrades once again. I have been dragging my feet since basically completing the RIO instrument panel, but I have finally started to work on the ejector seats in earnest. These are still early in their development, but I am getting good progress on feeling out the available space for the seats:
These two aren't even the same design. I keep changing things with each iteration and I already know the pilot seat will not be the same as the RIO seat anyway. As you can see, there is no real detail on the seat surfaces so far. This is mostly just me working out the overall shape and size to see what fits and how figures work with it. The seat backs have working backpack pegs so the figure is secure in the seat. I am struggling with the RIO seat's dimensions due to the far-narrower and lower canopy position back there. I probably will have to have very different dimensions for the head rest and/or seat height because of that, but I am not done fighting yet. The seat allows the RIO to spread his legs apart a bit, so I should be able to include a joystick and ejection handle in this space: Here you can see that while the headrest height is good for the figure, it's clearly too tall to fit under the canopy (just compare the height of the fuselage behind the seat): Plenty of leg room, some of which I may steal to try to address the headrest height issue: Pretty satisfied with the location of the pilot with respect to the canopy sections here, as well as the height of the headrest: And the RIO seat can afford to move forward a bit more (and possibly be leaned back just a bit more as well) to cheat the headrest height and width issues I am struggling with:

Do you have the basic Ender 3 or the Pro?

The seats are still rudimentary in design, but I am just about dialed-in with them now so I am starting to work on wedging in the RIO instrument panel. For now, I have chopped off the sides to start testing to see how much height I can give it:
At the moment, the RIO instrument panel is a separate piece. Once I get the dimensions and positioning figured out it will become part of the rear of the pilot seat. Once I get this sorted out for the vintage plane, it's my hope that I will be able to make it into a single-piece 2-seater interior for the modern-era Skystriker.

Those cockpits look great. The detail really sells the scale.

The RIO instrument panel has been modified to fit inside the available space now and the overall placement of parts is pretty much finished. I just need to add detail at this point. The box on top of the RIO instrument panel snapped off while I was removing support material elsewhere so I will need to fatten up the arms for that piece. Everything else is pretty durable already. Here it is:

Modern figures will need a bit more in terms of leg room and seat height, so this isn't a sure thing by any means. It looks promising, but it will be a tight fit.
Keep hope alive!
