That's one of the reasons why I don't like to do the online order and pick up, there's no telling what you'll be getting as a substitute if they don't have what you're looking for. I'd rather not get that item if they don't have it than get what they would substitute it for.

This exact situation happened with Walmart's preorders of the Ghostbusters Retro line earlier this year. Ship date when preorders went live was June or July. They were in stores by like...April. Pre orders didn't budge until much later.
This was further complicated by the rumor that there was some sort of trademark issue with Hasbro printing "who you gonna call" on the packaging. By the time Walmart shipped the preorders, the first wave of figures with the phrase on the package were gone. I wound up getting four of my figures in European packaging because, by the time they finally shipped them, that was supposedly all that was left. I have to believe that the Joe stuff will at least avoid the weird supposed trademark issue Ghostbusters hit, but I'll believe my order will be here Saturday when the package is in my hand. |

That new head sculpt is the best part of the whole package. I'll end up keeping the AWE Striker and head sculpt and dumping the body in the fodder box.

It was similar with the most recent wave of Retro Star Wars figures. They started showing up at Walmart stores all over the country a few weeks before they actually shipped pre-orders. I guess the website fulfillment follows these damned "street dates" similar to Target stores.

can anyone verify if they retooled the "cock pit" area on the Hiss and AWE Striker or not? curious if its the same seating as the 25th and 80s versions or if they finally retooled them to fit the slightly larger modern figures?

Looks to me the only change from the 25th is the rollbar. The color is brighter green. Who every made the sticker sheet background white needs to be kicked in the nuts.

I’m wondering if the crankcase head is modeled after a real person. Maybe even mark the mustache guy?

I’m so tired of Wal Mart’s incompetence and Hasbro’s choices for retailers....
I found an AWE Striker supposedly in stock and available for in store pickup. I checkout and drive 10 miles to pick it up. The employee goes back and hands me a bag and says here you go. There’s some cheap remote control jeep in the bag. I said this is not what I ordered and showed her my order. The reply I got is sometimes the item is not available and they substitute the best match they can find. What?!? Don’t email me confirmation that my order is ready to pick up and have it not be there. That is unacceptable!
