So, it looks like eBay is looking to slowly (or maybe not so slowly) push aside PayPal and take over all seller payments. Obviously, they want that extra 3% in fees that is currently going to PayPal. At first, the notifications I received made it sound optional, and like a cool new option. Now, though, the latest e-mail I got basically says do it or no more selling.
Has anyone made the switch yet? I'm curious how you like it. I think I need to open an additional checking account. No way am I giving eBay access to my primary checking account (giving them a checking account # will now be required to sell). I'm kind of pissed they're forcing this change on us. The silver lining though, is that sellers using this feature will now be able to accept credit card payments. Oh, and we will be saving like half a percent in fees *rolls eyes*.

I thought eBay bought PayPal a while back? I don't know. I guess I'm mistaken.

eBay and Paypal are like a celebrity couple that are constantly on again off again (Like Selena Gomez and Beiber). This time, the split is final. They definitely are not together.
Buyers will still be able to pay with paypal on eBay, *BUT*, soon sellers will no longer be able to say "Paypal Only". Basically, good for buyers, but a bit of a pain in the ass for Sellers.

Saw this earlier, wanted to chime in, but work was preventing me from posting more than my usual one-line drivel.
I remember this program being announced quite awhile back, and I'm somewhat ambivalent. On one hand, it did sound as though it would simplify the payment flow, and perhaps make resolution simpler should issues arise with a transaction. I'd actually like to see them just take the fees directly from each payment. I mean seriously, just take your damned $1.36, let's not wait until it builds up enough to hurt. On the other, it gives eBay an awful lot of control- I quite like having an intermediary between them and my accounts.

Well, I signed up for eBay managed payments, because they basically said I had to, or no more listings. I've been signed up for 8 days now, and my sales have taken a serious nose dive. What the hell is going on? It seems like to much of a coincidence. Has this happened to anyone else?

PS- how do I find your listings? I always prefer supporting tankers when I can!

Oddly enough, minutes after I complained on here, I made a sale. Ha...so maybe people just stopped buying from me because they're saving for Hascon and Haslab and whatever else. I'll DM you a link to my eBay sales.

I've purchased a few items in the past week but the only thing I noticed was more payment choices. I was still able to use PayPal upon checkout.
*woof, didn't notice that this was with regards to sellers.

Yes they've slowly been forcing it on everyone for several months now. They even called me about it, which was...surprising. They basically told me if I didn't sign up by Sept 15th, I would no longer be allowed to add anymore new listings after that date. So I opened a dummy online checking account and gave them the info.

I'll DM you a link to my eBay sales. As far as I can see, nothing has changed with my account. I put up a dummy listing andselected PayPal only, as I always have. I do know that when they first announced it a year(?) or so back, they said that "select sellers" would be involved in testing it out before the main rollout- were you a part of that?
