Trailer test print is complete (ran out of tan filament part way through and had to finish the print in grey):
Wash bucket for the back of the chuckwagon: And a buck saw for the trailer's tool kit: I have some adjustments to make on the buck saw and I misaligned the screw holes in the trailer's frame but on the whole, this was a success.

Rear end is just about done now. Just a few finishing touches left to go...

I printed a test piece of the rear end of the Nightlinger chuck wagon so I could dial in a bunch of features without wasting an entire print on it:
I am still working on the trailer hitching connection... The wagon cover ribs are still removable: The rear door converts to a counter/table surface with the use of a hinge and a removable table leg: Slide the table leg out of the bracket... Insert the short end of the table leg back into the bracket... Then open the door and let it rest as a table... The drawers are removable: And I also worked out an acceptable means of hanging the slop bucket under the rear platform. Here is my much-smaller test piece of the region resting in place above where it would really go when part of the larger print: The connection method I used is much stronger than a simple hook but still somewhat fakes the appearance of being just a hook unless you flip if over and look at the bottom: And the water barrel on the side of this wagon will feature a removable lid. Here is a small sliver of barrel top with a test lid: I have a few little issues to clean up but Mr. Nightlinger's chuck wagon is dangerously close to being ready for a final print!

I still need to come up with a tow rope to connect the trailer to the wagon plus re-print the door/table piece (broke the hinge off during installation) and print a couple more ribs, but the Nightlinger chuck wagon has more or less landed at last:

OK, ribs have now been printed, a table/door replacement has been printed and installed, and a "rope" piece has been created to attach the trailer to the wagon:
The "rope" tow hitch, which is a removable clip-on piece: There are a few areas of imperfection in the surface finish as well as two areas with some scarring from support material that was printed on top of the finished surface: Overall, I'm quite pleased with the print quality and the functionality. Nearly everything is functional with the exception of the lock box on top of the cabinet and the two side-mounted boxes, none of which actually open. But the barrel, wash bucket, grease bucket, table/door with leg, and drawers are all functional. The trailer has a tool box that goes inside it in the movie this wagon is based on and I am working on modeling a working, opening version of that tool box if I can. I also want to try making a pattern for a cloth wagon cover and a small cover for the trailer as well. If I can pull all of that off this thing will be pretty darn accurate.

Thanks! I was initially basing it off of this image:
https://northcarolinaroom.files.word...03/gallows.jpg But that thing is craaazy tall so I'm scaling it back a bit for practicality's sake: Now based on this image: https://media.istockphoto.com/photos...re-id510357681 This one stands about 8.5 inches tall. It's perhaps less-authentic than my first draft, but it's still pretty good and makes for a better print and display piece than a taller and spindlier one would. I plan to make a functioning trap door with working lever. I have a lot of detailing work left to figure out along with the assembly methods to make it all easier to work with, but I think this overall form is what I'm aiming for at this point. I print all my homemade parts on an Ender 3 Pro.

Yeah my Ender 3 Pro is a work horse! I recently got a PRUSA MK3s, once getting used to it has been pretty nice. If you are looking to upgrade I recommend it. Or if you want a comparison print send me something.
