Damn dude this is legit. Good find. May I offer some advice on decals when you eventually assemble it?
If using repro stickers don't use RattlerRepros, he's an ass and his deck stickers don't fit exactly right you'll have problems-just read some of the other threads. Go with Toyhax instead. Although what I really recommend & wish everyday that I had done it myself is use the original set if possible! Believe me no repro set will EVER compare to the originals. I was happy with mine for the most part (I used Toyhax) but the thing that still bugs meee is the repro's can't match that fluorescent yellow color of that line down the deck. Everything else looks OK but that damn yellow line from the repro's just looks 'off' or dull. It dosent pop like the original set which is how I remember having this as a boy. I wish I knew of a clever way to make my original set still stick-I'd redo my deck so that the yellow line really pops Quote:
I normally use Toyhax for my restorations. I think I only used another set (maybe Rattlerpros) to supplement some of the 83 Joe HQ decals as I found Toyhax’s colors to be off on about 5 of the stickers. Plus I guess due to Marvel copy rights the Toyhax set didn’t have the original panels for the Comms desk. Aside from that Toyhax is always my go to. I confirmed their Flagg set was good with a prominent toy channel. Having the originals will help too. I know guys who recard their toys on repro card backs use a two sided 3M super thin, super clear tape, or a spray adhesive. Maybe I’ll try the spray on the vintage decals for just those strips on the deck. I really appreciate the advice. Over the summer I may attempt to build a lower level. It would be a great excuse to finally buy a band saw. The only high end saw I really don’t have. Thanks again! Love your display!

Hi guys. This is my first post hear so I hope I’m in the right spot and member don’t mind giving me some help. My son and I want to start a project together and we decided on the Flagg. It was always on my wish list as a kid and I’ve passed it on. Found someone
selling one with a lot of missing parts. He claims all of the big pieces are there and I’ve been trying to double check that with pictures he has sent. He wants $200 for it. First do you think the shell, deck, tower and supports are worth this? How hard is it to find most major parts? I’m probably looking to complete the ship but it doesn’t have to be 100% there. Are there reproduction parts available? Also am I in way over my head lol. I want to do some custom work to it. Thanks guys in advance. Always best to ask people who know! And knowing is half the battle! Jason |

There are repo parts for some of the harder parts to find, some pop up on eBay from time to time and there's a member here that has some 3d printed parts that are really good. $200 for the full deck, the tower and the supports doesn't sound too bad to me. Good luck

I think it’s a good price if the decking and sub structure is there. Also, if the super structure is good. I bought mine for $300 and all that stuff was good. I also bought a new sticker set for around $100 from Cobra Stickers, now ToyHax. I was missing a few pieces and also the microphone. Part of the fun is tracking down the missing parts.

Unfortunately all of my small parts are still in the bag.

Tonight, on my 45th birthday, I join my fellow collectors as I take a seat in the great hall in the pantheon of Joe greatness.
Never having owned a Flagg I wasn’t very knowledgeable about the vehicle. I had educated myself on many videos but never felt confident buying a used one. Would I be able to spot repro pieces, glued, repaired, or painted pieces, would I know if a piece or two was missing? If I bought a sealed one to easy my concern would I dare ever open it and lose the value? After much searching I found this gem. It was opened, and the box has some water stains, and a bit of damage. It mega phone was missing and that was cool with me. The vehicle was never assembled, decals never applied, (obviously I’ll have to get new ones though) and none of the parts bags were ever opened! All of the deck pins, fan tail railing, y pins, etc are all still on the parts tree. As someone who wanted to open a mint one this was ideal! I get one, no yellowing, no stressed plastic, no broken tabs, no missing pieces. And at half the price of what a sealed one goes for. For me this was the best of both worlds. |

I turn 45 in a week and bought a Flagg on Tues. I got it home and am going through it. One of the broken parts is the lower mast. Does anyone make a repro of it, or even a better version?

Try 3M adhesive transfer tape if you haven't, it's great for reusing old stickers (as well as many other things!)

First time poster on here as I have been buying all my joes from favebook. I figured I would make the leap here as I have bought off of tfw2005 with very good success. My flagg is in pretty good condition just woundering if some one had the main support truss as mine has brooken tabs on one side. Or a lower mast

Hi guys, haven’t posted in a couple of months since
my original post on buying the main structure of the Flagg. I’m almost done with acquiring everything. I’m still in need of original mast cap, one dish antenna post and Keel Haul with pistol and card. I’ve already got the microphone and fantail rail(original). So I’m very close now. I’m planning on doing a custom base.(ultimate Flagg style) My question is for guys who have done this before. What do people use between the wood supports and the Flaggs plastic supports to keep them from sliding off from one another. I’m not going to glue them but want to see what others have done. Thanks for the help! |
