Issue 272
Finally got my copy. Diamond was severely backordered or something. Everyone has picked the problems with this issue clean, so I'm going to avoid all of those talking points. Hey I don't usually pay much attention to alternative covers, but look at that Winter Baroness Kneeling art. Now that's something. Baroness should start wearing white in general. She's such a poorly developed character that anything would help her. Fun to see all of these characters on a weird roadtrip. This is what happens when they can't get more planes than the C-130 I guess. Very happy to see Bullhorn, but confounded by the chosen use of him. More Blowtorch! He looks shocked and dismayed. I love that Hit and Run is wearing his Tiger Force uniform for no apparent reason. Stretcher! Is this his first appearance, I can't remember him in any issues. Some notes: Backstop's helmet should stick out more in the front. Barbecue should take his helmet off on the bus. Laura is a bad soldier. Mystic finger knits work on the unbelievers. Great art on Slipstream. Oh, a COBRA-FORGED katana! If Zartan himself didn't craft it, I'm not interested. Maybe Larry is introducing the Pythona twins, the daughters of Onihashi, although I doubt it. Joes and Dreadnoks chilling out together. Destro entering in a way-too-small AGP and working with them as well. This may end up being more interesting than all the Joes on the buses combined. The Crimson Guards look cool all lit up in shadows and fire highlights. Sean is getting better than he used to be back when he put on the mask. My longstanding hope is that eventually he will just be called Snake-Eyes and nobody will refer to him otherwise, and so new readers won't know there was a switch. That would be cool. Viper with goggles on, pretty cool. Red light to jump! I love parachuting scenes in this series. I'm pretty disinterested in whatever malarkey is going on with the Oktober Guard, but I guess they'll all show up before the fight is over too. Look at that next cover! Ninja Vipers, Red Vipers, all sorts of madness.
