nothing major. just cut up the belt and bandolier and rearranged the bits. took the stupid shin armor off and added some paint here and there.

Taking the shin armor off is a major improvement.
I don't understand why so many figures are worried about damage to their shins.

Yeah, looks nice without shin guards. But it leaves a slot in his boots though. Did you do anything on yours cause it seems hidden quite well.

they are super easy to take off. i peeled one half back and what i found under it was acceptable enough to me to remove them. i saved them and think they might end up on another figure IF i ever get the rest of my pre-orders or lucky enough to beat a scalper employee at walmart/target and grab some more figures. id like another duke. he's a good base figure to use for other joes. really wish they had given duke his helmet.
maybe they have them shin armor to protect them from all the ass kinking they do?! lol |

its soft plastic so it peels back very easy. the shin guard plugs into the shin and glued in place. there is no way that plug is coming out so as i eased back the guard i ran a sharp blade along the end skinning it off leaving it flush-ish. then painted over it.

I was hoping you would say that these were super easy to peel off and after it's removed, you can't even tell they were ever there...haha.
I'll just stick with my painted shin guards version I guess. Do you still have the shin guards though? I have this feeling that Hasbro glued them on the wrong legs cause they don't line up straight. From what you can see after removing them, did that seem to be the case.

i have the guards. they will end up on another figure in some fashion i think.
the guards have a built in plug that goes in the leg which is glued in. then they glued the sides down. maybe when the sides were done they did it crooked? either way they are gone and i couldnt be more happy. |

thanks! i was going to go all kinda crazy with painting him. like the green on the shirt was going to be removed but it started to grow on me, but the white t-shirt had to go.
i really just cut up the accessories and rearranged them to suit me better. |
