Haha, no problem! My friend always messes with me, says between the 90’s Joes & turtles, have to make sure any guests have their sunglasses when coming to view my collection.
Thanks, appreciate it! Never would have guessed that I’d get to do a full body neon paint job when I started actually putting paint to figures a few years back.

Okay, so this ended up turning into one of my favorite projects which I had absolutely no plan on actually doing because I never thought I’d have pieces to actually dive into the Mega Monsters themselves.
This one got its start when I placed a Boss Fight order and grabbed a few blind box accessory packs because I really wanted the luchador masks & wrestling pieces because they did a great job on those designs. I ended up getting those, but then I also got the vampire and reptilian sets so I started kicking around ideas for them and it hit me......maybeeeeee, these could be the Mega Monsters.....it’s possible...haha. So for Monstro-Viper, full Boss Fight build here. Started with their tan reptilian blank and the blind box vampire accessory set, then also a few fur pieces from one of their other accessory packs. Lot of black paint, good bit of pumpkin for the pants and then some touches of neon yellow, gold, white & red to get him across the finish line. I say this a lot but one of my favorite figures that I’ve gotten to put together, such an absolutely fun project and I love how accurate I was able to get him to my original childhood Monstro-Viper. Monstro-Viper And just to show how sinister Mindbender is:

That's a bona fide fucking winner. Super clever build/use of parts and beautiful execution. I truly love it.

Haha, thanks! I honestly could not wait to share this one, I thought the build was pretty cool when it was sitting on my desk unpainted but I was so hyped up after actually finishing some of the pieces.

Wow! Not sure what I was expecting (probably something that would have captured the size of the original) but this blows it away! I find the original Mega-Monsters pretty unappealing visually, but this build really catches the eye! Brilliant part use, and a beautiful figure overall.
Also, I don't know why I haven't asked this yet, but where does the "Orzo's" in the thread title come from? Just curious. |

That Monster-Viper is really sick, bro! Far better than the source material! The BFS Monster Blank with the vampire head and the fur pieces works very well. The paints look clean, as usual. My favorite thing though is the action shots with the story! Nicely done!

Also, I don't know why I haven't asked this yet, but where does the "Orzo's" in the thread title come from? Just curious. Honestly was expecting to just sit the originals on the shelf with my custom modern guys but it’s so much fun to have actual Joe sized versions of the Mega Monsters. Especially ones that I got to create myself. It’s just the nickname my friends call me when joking around. We have a Hit & Run and Hit and Run on the site so I figured going by Orzo even if it wasn’t my screen name would be less confusing for the thread. Also didn’t want people thinking there were a ton of Hit & Run customs in here. Haha. Thanks! As always! Love how he turned out! Quote:

-Todd Shakka85 Yeah, I can’t believe how well the vampire pieces all worked out! Love it even more because I hate having pieces that I feel like I can’t use. Thanks! So much fun doing the story shots, especially when I get to show how awful life as a Cobra trooper is. Haha. Turn down any promotions that come from Mindbender! Thanks! Easily one of the cooler projects I took on! So much fun to make!

Can’t have Monstro-Viper with out his partner in crime! Much like Monstro, I got a ton of play value out of Bio-Viper growing up. When looking at my Past & Present pics, you can even see all of his tentacles are snapped, haha. Those things whipped and grabbed a ton of Joes back in the 90’s!
Another full Marauder build here that was birthed through a lucky draw with the mystery parts boxes. Went a little different on the body for him by splitting his green orc blank build and combining it with a regular blank legs to give him his bare legs look. Another full body paint job, the insect accessory kit pieces, a fur waste piece I had sitting around and then I painted a Marauder bandolier & grenades black to mimic the original figures gear. I also looped some pipe cleaners through the holes in the bandolier to give him his tentacles. At some point I’m gonna circle back and try my hand at sculpting to give him some permanent posed ones. Also want to look at the ones that came with the Force Awakens Raftar, I might be able to use their tentacles too. We’ll see but for now, absolutely love the build, colors and look of him. Looks absolutely great with his teammate! Bio-Viper Mindbender up to his cruel tricks again: And then the Mega Monsters teamed up!
