This is one that I put together so long ago that while looking at the shelves, I forgot it was even a custom. Haha. Because of the price, I missed out on the Joecon Night Force Crazylegs but as soon as I saw the initial Marauder offerings I knew he would be one that I quickly put together. Completely missed out on this version growing up but I know I would have loved him a lot more than the v1 that I did have so it’s awesome to have him in the modern collection.
Simple build here using Marauder parts as the base and then Hasbro goggles & parashoot gear to finish out the look. Someone else will definitely be able to identify the Hasbro gear, I’m not really sure where it comes from though. Night Force Crazylegs Got to use my King Kong movie line copter for these shots too which is good since it was still sitting in the box before I grabbed it for the following shots. Works really well as Wild Bill’s NF ride. Finished another block on nine & updated the guide on the first page. Such a fun group.

I love seeing the thread bumped - I know it means good things ahead.
Personally, I like the lack of light green on Mutt’s pants. Recognizable but upgraded. I guess if you really wanted to though you could use the MTF Flight Ops legs. I would say, given the knee padding in the original this might have been a good candidate for the MTF armored lower legs. It’s make a nice overall consistent design since you already have the chest armor, Good stuff! |

Crazylegs looks good! I'm especially excited about the cost to make that custom, compared to trying to buy the 2014 convention figure.

Last time I checked, it was going for about $200+ on eBay which is insane! What's even more crazy is that it sells sporadically for that much. I prefer your version and will use your recipe to make one after of course I track down that Hasbro gear!!

Yeah, I feel the same way, like the current look of my custom even if it’s not 100% accurate to the original figure in pant color. Kind of hard to do anyway because this is one that seems to change colors a lot, I’ve seen some figures in toy bins where the pants look almost tan, same for a lot of pictures. Then in my pics I think the green looks brighter than it does in hand. The armored legs would be a good idea for him! these worked really well as a no paint build which I always love doing so mine will probably live without the armor too unless Marauder John has some cool new idea for attachable leg armor down the road. Always appreciate the comments and recommendations! Quote:
That’s awesome that you’re gonna use the formula to make your own! Always cool to give an assist in filling a hole in someone else’s collection, especially when it’s one of the customs that I really like! Quote:
Haha. Thanks! Glad you like it and are gonna make one too! Hope you can find the gear or something that works just as well for him!

Nice work on Crazylegs! It's funny; that trooper head is pretty accurate to the vintage art, but the head on the POC figure is really close to the Vanguard head. Weird. Mutt looks good too, but he makes me wish Marauders had a Rottweiler each time I see a version of him done lol.

Nice. I think crazy legs was the first figure I had two versions of. He’s one I’ve got a deeper nostalgia for. Have you done a v1?

Wow, I want to say it was maybe Lifeline (v1 & TF) or Stalker (v1 & Tundra) for me. If I missed out on the V1’s of them, which I might have growing up, I probably go all the way to 1992 before I had multiples of a character after those two. My brother skipped repaints a lot so the only two Night Force members we had were Tunnel Rat & Psyche-Out which I’m assuming is because he didn’t had one or both of their original figures. I actually think the 25th Crazylegs is a really good version so I never really thought about doing one in the original colors. Had the Club repainted that one instead of going with the newer Lift Ticket, I probably would have spent the money to get the JoeCon version.

Thanks! Would have been awesome if Marauder John gave us a Rottweiler! Wonder if more dogs are still in the plan for down the road.

Nice work on Night Force Crazy Legs! Definitely the better of the two versions from the original line, from the military color perspective. Mutt's not bad either!
