Dear Hasbro: Just tell us what you're gonna be releasing! I had to stop myself from buying a few vintage vehicles on eBay because we still don't know what future Retro vehicles will be.
I had to sell almost my entire collection (toys, tools, props) to fund a move a while back and now that I'm finally in a position to start reacquiring I've got Walmart threatening to drop a totally budget-friendly VAMP or Moray in my lap, all without having to worry about missing parts, repro decals, or 30+ year old plastic? I can't even bring myself to get a Rolling Thunder because maybe, just maybe they'll decide to dust off those molds and I'd be able to get three brand-new ones for the price of one original.

At 13 bucks a pop wal-mart can keep em. They aren't even the correct figs to match the card art.

I am looking forward to seeing what comes out in subsequent waves too. I'd love to see Hasbro get us a retooled MOBAT, Retooled Dragonfly or Whale. Unfortunately for me I have pretty much every vehicle you have listed in your predictions from the modern era releases of the vehicles LOL. I am really eager to see the characters they release though - I look forward to Wave 2 to see how Roadblock and Destro look. I am hopeful that these do well as I want to build up my ME fig collection again. At the same time I am happy I can still focus on vintage collecting for the time being.

Sure, there's a big difference between the RT and a HISS, but where is the line drawn? Pretty much everything done since 2000 is still in their hands and I'd totally bet on them playing it safe and just replaying the hits (they've got a new Skystriker mold that barely saw use so that's pretty much a guarantee) but... what if they're just testing the waters and making sure there's a market before moving up? Could they drop a new WHALE? Re-issue the Night Raven? I'm trying my best to be realistic, but plastic is cheaper today than it was when the line started and those molds are already paid for, so my mind is running wild.

Oh for sure, I think we'd all shout loud enough to hear each other over the internet if they did that! But the simple fact that they've got a pipeline in place again for vehicle reissues is making it a lot harder for me to pull the trigger on rebuilding my collection.

What I'm doing in rebuilding my collection is starting with the Collector Club figures and Marauders parts for customs. The vehicles and playsets, I'm buying some that I'm pretty sure we won't see, like, I just bought a Terrordrome, the Cobra Parasite, Battle Barge, Tactical Platform, etc. What I'm not purchasing from the ARAH collection is the Water Moccasin, Snow Cat, Outpost Defender, Surveillance Port, LAW, and the other vehicles and playsets we saw during the modern era. |

Finally! I was able to order the HISS tank a few minutes ago. I was only able to purchase 1 and it said "out of stock" afterwards. I guess an order was cancelled.

I can't see them doing major retool jobs on vehicle molds right now. A few reasons..
1.) The majority of their time money and energy seems to be on the 6" line, which is all new sculpting and tooling. While there will be some parts reuse as the line goes on ("It looks like Flint is using the Duke upper arms and thighs") a good portion of any figure- particularly head sculpts accessories end extremities will be fresh. 2.) It is unclear what relation the 4" line will have to any movie product, and whether they will instead feel beholden to squeeze out a slightly tweaked version of a motorcycle, AWE striker etc to tie in with the film. 3.) The initial response to the 4" line has been positive, but they aren't going to jump on any big vehicles for Wal-Mart, who don't particularly want items with a big shelf footprint.

And one other consideration..
The initial wave has been well received, but future case assortment and selection, combined with complications from COVID can tangle up the line. I reckon they may not want to throw a pile of money at a WHALE rebuild, just as a wave of less popular 50th/25th figures sits on the shelf on account of no one especially wanting a re-release of Buzzer, Tripwire, Blowtorch, and the Snow Cat..

All good points, which is why I pulled the trigger and bought that Rolling Thunder. I cannot in any way justify $500+ for a complete Terror Drome, though, as big a slut as I am for Cobra. But I feel that's iconic enough that I feel comfortable waiting to see if Hasbro decides to do something (Retro HasLab projects?) but with zero expectations anything like that will happen.
