As far as figures go, other than an good updated take on Scarlett, Duke and Falcon's classic designs, the ones I'm after the most would be Dial Tone and Cover Girl. Oh and Horror Show but I know the odds on that are slim to zero.
Otherwise, though, bring on the vehicles. Allllllll the vehicles! |

I haven’t had time to time this month to post these last few months. And although I missed the train on the pre-announcement discussion, and insta-reaction after announcement, it looks like we have a while to discuss what we’ll be getting before these things arrive.
I’m all aboard with all the announced and rumored stuff, even though I already have all the products (except AWE Striker). I’d be getting all this whether o-ring or 25th/30th style—I know I won’t be able to resist if seen in stores or available on the website. It’s new Joe product based on classic takes—at current retail MSRP! Newly produced classic o-rings would have been great, but the modern stuff opens up a new venue for a fresh batch of modern parts cheaper than secondary market prices (and possibly stock of parts/figures from Chinese sellers). The reveal of the new HISS Driver has me excited—not for the figure itself (more later)—it’s the fact that this SKU had budget for tooling new or previously unproduced parts. That budget probably is not much—but if they had some for HISS Driver, I’m confident they can produce parts needed to correctly build some of the figures anticipated for wave 2 and beyond (more later). Wave 1 thoughts: not the most exciting wave of releases for me due to recarding of fully existing figures, but decent choices-especially if you compare these to what has released for the first wave of the fairly recent Star Wars Vintage Collection restart. I agree with most that SS should have been the Ultimate build version—I really need another one for a subdisplay. I also agree that Baroness should have used the SDCC head. But honestly that head is oversized as the one being released is undersized. A new head would have been ideal, and the SDCC head a close second (giving us a chance to mess around with it to perfect, but less expensively than now). And hopefully the new digital facepainting comes out as well as promo pics look. Seems to be hit and miss with the Star Wars VC line. The tri-lingual file cards are awful and laughable. I could keep piling on about them, but I’m not buying the figures for the filecards (or any of the packaging really). Seeing these in the stores will be a thrill. The 6 inch at my stores have been in the shipper display. I was wondering how the Joe product would fit into the planograms (and I’m still wondering—closer to Transformers or closer to Fortnite stuff?). Two SKU’s will help buoy a better presence at Walmart, while the Cobra Island exclusives help the Target side. I’ll be posting my thoughts/hopes on upcoming figures and builds soon.

Duke and Scarlett are going to be key figures in this line. If they are lazy rereleases of Renegades or Duke's weird 50th versions, then we will know that Hasbro doesn't have much new planned for us.
Destro has to be his 50th version, but who knows what Cobra Commander they will use.

I don't think anyone knows yet. We don't even know when they're gonna be announced.
