Toy companies themselves have a hand in this as well. If we're going to lay blame, let's not leave them out. Making toy collecting a boutique business really kills a lot of the fun. Bots and "scalpers" don't help either.

Notice how the new toys already have "ratings/reviews" and a couple were given 1 petty little presumptive star. One guy even said something like, "No one asked for these..." Yep, that dink speaks for not just all adult collectors, but kiddos too, because his opinion is all that matters.

I sold them because I was getting back into o-ring figures - I needed funds to get back into o-ring so I sold off the ME - what makes no sense about needing money to help with my hobby? I prefer the o-ring figures and enjoy the hell out of acquiring vintage figs but I have also realized in the past few years that having some ME figures is also a good thing and since Hasbro seems to be sticking with the ME mold I see a chance to re-build a modern era figure collection.
Alot of collectors go through phases - selling off collections/reacquiring them (for different reasons). I stated that this was a win/win for me personally - It's how I view the new "retro" line in a positive light. |

I wanted o-ring re-releases, was really hoping that is what the whole "retro" thing meant. I would have loved to gotten some 80's o-ring figures that I don't have to worry about a shift in the wind causing a thumb or waist to break.
But this is still a win. Sure, they're starting out with reissues. But, so did the Star Wars vintage collection 2.0 line. They have to build a foundation, and considering everything sold out, it looks like they've done that. The great thing is we get another chance to continue our 25th/POC/30th/50th collection. |

It's why I particularly dig Spin Master's DC 4" toys. They're obviously toys made exclusively for kids, but cool enough to appeal to my adult nostalgia for toys made exclusively for kids. |

I am really disappointed with these figures being 25th style. Was really hoping for an O-rings RAH line.

This thread is turning into a real drag.
And I feel for you guys who wanted o-rings. But again, there was never any reason to expect that other than our own speculation based on information we were never supposed to have. And if not for that info, would anyone have expected o-rings in the first place? We’re all pretty much thought joe had moved to 6”. Especially when the Jazwares rumor turned out to be misinformation.

They were popping in and out of stock all day Friday, but that seems to have stopped.
My guess is that they won't open up for online ordering again until they come in stock.

Yeah that's what I thought. I was able to snag multiples of everything except the awe. That thing sold out in seconds. I would have thought the Hiss would have been the first to go.
