Hahaha, like I was telling Slice, I have to use yellow so much now that I keep digging deeper into the 90’s that I’m used to it now. I’m gonna be the Bob Ross of yellow Joe’s with how much patience some of these guys helped me develop.

Close out the week with one that was fairly easy to put together. Outside of him running from Cobra’s in the movie, I was never a big fan of Cross Country growing up. Never took to him in the cartoon, hated the original figure and liked the little hovercraft part of the HAVOC but not the total package. Recently picked up a HAVOC and love it now though.
So because I wasn’t a fan, I completely skipped this Battle Corps version growing up. When I had an extra Marauder dress shirt that I was trying to use I got the idea to try to put him together and what I ended up with I actually loved. Not the most difficult build but one that I think is pretty effective and really pops on the shelf because of the orange accents. Two changes that may be made down the road are I didn’t realize I had a black haired head on him until taking the pics, so that will get switched at some point. Then I also may added the orange straps on his pants. Not really a fan of the original figure’s faded jeans so I’ll probably keep mine with the light gray Marauder pants as a homage to the v1. Full Marauder build, no paint and I added a Python Viper’s goggles to his hat to give him that Cross Country feel. Battle Corps Cross Country Until I got ready for pictures, I never actually realized he was listed as the Battle Wagon driver. Also secondary is the Badger. I was thinking I would be taking HAVOC pics until I read that. Haha, always a good day when you get to mess with the Battle Wagon! Then just because I’m a huge Battle Wagon fan and love this shot, a larger version of it.

Haha, thanks! Another of my 90’s faves that you had to enjoy as a kid to probably like today. Do you like the navy & red repaint v2 of him? Just curious if it’s the colors of the original or the entire package that you’re just not a fan of. I actually didn’t know about that v2 until recently. Hahaha, like I was telling Slice, I have to use yellow so much now that I keep digging deeper into the 90’s that I’m used to it now. Yeah, not really a fan of the overall aesthetic of the figure, mold and color combo. I didn't know that there was a v2 of ICS, but I had seen a reuse of the mold to make a Cobra of some sort... I wasn't collecting those figures though, as I did not care for the look of them (the shiny plastic looked cheap to me, and did not compare to the Original Joe figures).
BTW, Cross Country v2 is looking good! He needs his faded blue jeans though! -Todd Shakka85 Thanks! Haha, I love the goofy mid 90’s designs more than most but the faded jeans were even too much for me. Maybe if I pick up the o-ring they’ll grow on me and I’ll want to replicate the look for him. For now I’m loving the gray pants. Thanks! Two figures that I really enjoy having modern versions of. Plus I had a great time taking the Battle Wagon & Locust shots.

First for this week is a figure who I never had growing up, Long Range. Never really got to mess with him or his vehicle, the Thunderclap. So he’s a figure that I didn’t really even know about until I was going through YoJoe to find more ARAH figures to cross off the list but he’s one who I really liked the design for.
Building him out was fairly easy once I decided on a helmet. I wasn’t feeling the Marauder options for him but then I came across my extra POC Lift Ticket and it all came together. So simple Marauder build with some white paint and then the Hasbro helmet to finish him off. I loved how it looked in green so I opted against painting the helmet white to better match the original figure. Long Range Since the Thunderclap was unavailable for him, I gave him the ROC Ice Dagger as his ride (even if he couldn’t drive it with the canopy down).

Long Range looks nice! And that poor Wolf...
I don't really mind the color-combo on Ice Cream Soldier, since it's almost the inverse of Blowtorch (but neon, of course), but for a long time I never saw the figure, and expected him to look like...well almost exactly like Blizzard (also without seeing him), but with an upside-down, triple-scoop ice cream cone smooshed onto his head. Now I realize the name was just a pun on "I Scream, Soldier", but I still like the image of the hapless dairy-headed arctic trooper |

Your Long Range build looks nice! However, you know that he wore a light grey, and not white, right? Just thought you might not be aware of that, as the pictures on YoJoe! may have tricked you into thinking the light grey was white...

......nope, thought he was all white and never questioned it from any of the pics I saw of him. Haha. Did him and Decimator at the same time and I thought it was only Decimator who I goofed the colors on. He’s coming up at some point this week depending on who I feel like taking pics of next and his colors are definitely off. This is what I get for always being annoyed at the Club when they’d use the wrong colors. Oh well, haha. I like Long Range with the white vest, colors pop well together so I’ll live with him being a little off. Quote:

Just to see what this guy’s deal was. The neon colors didn’t hurt though because I was all in on the neon Joe’s at that point. Love how the custom looks on display though. That 93/94 Battle Corps group is starting to glow in the dark with how much neon I have going there.

Up next is a figure who I loved growing up because he came with one of my favorite vehicles, the Battle Copter. I may not have thought Major Altitude was the coolest figure but I used to send the Battle Copters soaring to the point where I’m really surprised I never lost the Major.
One of my fondest customs because he may have been the first Marauder figure that I painted, if he wasn’t the very first he was among the first. So definitely one that I need to touch up in some areas since he was done before I really had any experience with this but I still love how well I was able to make the green paint pop. Another full Marauder build with some Hasbro accessories in the original helmet and the battle copter that came with Club Sonic Fighter Falcon. Then I painted the boots brown and hit the figures & accessories with the bright green to make him pop. Major Altitude
