Don't forget the Blue Ninjas, who once were nigh invincible, now get taken out in 2 panels by Tyrone's baby brother! (He's been practicing ninjutsu for 3 weeks and is now a master ninja!)

Honestly, would you guys rather read the current ARAH stuff or watch Rise of Cobra and/or Retaliation?

I wonder if it would be worth having a co-writer work with Hama? Someone with new, fresh ideas that can help keep the momentum/action going and can deliver a satisfying conclusion to a story. I can't imagine ARAH continuing without Hama's involvement so I think his name still needs to be attached one way or the other. Has the co-writer thing ever been done in comics before? |

I'm still enjoying ARAH. The current arc is enjoyable, but I agree that overall it could be better in terms of scripts. I recently subscribed to Comixology Unlimited and have been re-reading issues 21-50. There's definitely a different energy in those issues.

I thought Retaliation was pretty good. Rise of Cobra had its moments, but they were far and few between! But the comic...I love Larry’s work! It’s how I base my own personal Joe world. I still enjoy reading a monthly comic about ARAH(even though IDW seems to be having some issues meeting deadlines), but I’ll admit that some issues are better than others. This current Snake Hunt arc has been good, but I feel like a big battle should already be taking place. I loved the Order of Battle Larry did for the Cobra Civil War. I miss the wide scope war during the Benzheen arc. I always feel like there were so many other stories to tell during that war that never got told, I mean, all of the Joes and their equipment went to Benzheen, but we only saw a handful of skirmishes during that war. I always thought a ‘Tales of Benzheen’ would make a good book to make to show all of the other battles that happened during that war.

I'm positive that Steeler and Back-Stop's word balloons got switched somehow. Nobody can suck so much at editing on purpose. Last issue, Steeler asked Back-Stop if he was driving the Mauler. Here, Back-Stop states that he's on the MOBAT, which is Steeler's ride. Steeler says that he's driving the Mauler, which used to be Heavy Metal's tank before he was killed in Trucial Abysmia.
Or so I'd like to believe. Blue Siegies. Two Lady Jayes. Laura acting more Mary Sue-ish than Dawn. Generic Vipers knowing Laura by name while searching for her. Joes who stayed behind at the Pit parachuting into Springfield. My head hurts... And then there's the star of our show. Sean is EXACTLY like Classified. What was the point of killing off the original Snake-Eyes? Sean is just as indestructible. Why scar the kid and leave him mute? What is the difference we're supposed to be seeing here? What is the purpose of creating a replacement who is the same guy we've known for years? I just try to look for the various Joe cameos and throw my hands in the air by now. Oh, look. There's Crazylegs. Man, I'm glad to have him back. I hated it when Larry killed him off. I did genuinely like the attempt at humor regarding Bullhorn and Gung-Ho's yelling out loud. I liked the scene at the gas station. And Destro always sounds as he should. He is such a straight arrow when allied with the Joes that it's virtually impossible to write him badly. He always comes across as a classy guy.

Agreed on the Benzheen War. We got to see Dusty on like every flanking mission, and never the “main assault.” Would be interesting to see more and see if anyone else bought it.

What Hama needs is an editor who will whip him into shape. Someone who will toss back a plot that's not publication-worthy. Bring in Jim Shooter. Quote:
