I guess I'm unsure how all this will work...
The figures can't have guns, which I guess they can use different accessories, but if it's retro packaging, what will they do with the artwork? A lot of the original card art have the characters holding guns...

Fortnite and SW figures and a bunch of others have guns, I’m sure these will too.

The fact that the 6 inch figures don't come with realistic guns means these probably won't either.

Lots of Marvel Legends come with guns. It's obvious they are deemphasizing guns in some places, but they aren't totally banned.

It would be great to have a line similar to Star Wars TVC where the classic packaging contains 50th/POC Styled ME figures such as an updated ARAH Duke, Flint, etc.
I would definitely prefer that over O-Ring reproductions but no doubt about it, I’d purchase either line. Best case scenario would to get both those lines. I really hope these are POC/50th Kit-bashed figures on classic cards, but the fact that they are calling it "Retro" makes me think that it will be O-Ring style figures with the "aged" looking cards. I might buy some retro O-ring figures to keep carded (I've never been a MOC collector), but more probably, I would buy some of the O-Ring figures just to get some of the classic gear. So, hopefully, we'll see some pics this Friday. Jason |

Some of the Fortnite guns are pretty realistic.
Even 6” Duke’s weapon, while not realistic enough for me, still looks like an AR-15 to the general populace.

I have family in Canada. Maybe they can intercept the shipment and take some pictures.

They did it a little. Lots of the mid-2000s comic packs of ARAH o-ring figures had new head sculpts. And some of those were carried over into convention sets.
e.g. this Duke: https://www.yojoe.com/action/05/duke21.shtml I honestly think I'd rather see just new heads, or even re-use these comic packs heads, and keep the old body molds. Too much change and the nostalgia will be gone. Like with Retro Star Wars Tarkin though, some new o-ring characters of old comic book or cartoon characters would be cool. The comic packs did that with some like Kwinn and Scarface, but I think Dr. Venom is one that they didn't get to. I think the Joe Con set had a Sparks, but I think his coloring was off model from the cartoon. Plus they re-used a Breaker head for him. I'm dreading that they're going to do the original figures but leave out the guns or put in stupid sci-fi weapons. That terrible choice was already made on the retail Classified line. And this is a year that already saw Elmer Fudd's musket replaced with a scythe in Looney Tunes cartoons. The stupid political correctness is surging. Where did you see Elmer Fudd lose his hunting (HUNTING!!!) musket?!

I hope it’s ME sculpts on retro cards.
The retro SW stuff is fun to see on the pegs but I’m not buying it. Honestly, I think a liberal sprinkling of new and never before done vintage style figures in the regular assortments (not just packs in games) would help the SW retro line... I‘d probably be buying them if they threw prequel/sequel/EU characters in there. Jason |
