That Snake Eyes was one of my childhood's biggest disappointments, and part of why I stopped buying Joes. I remember being so stoked when I saw the art on the back of Slice's card, followed by the massive rush of disappointment when I saw the actual figure at my buddy's house.

In hindsight, yes. But at the time before swivel arm battlegrip, they were like star wars guys whose elbows actually bent, which was awesome for that single year.

I didn’t like that Laws card-art was based on Kirk Bozigian but not the figure and that the figure heads of Fastdraw, Rapidfire, Supertrooper, Maverick, and Charbroil all have Kirks actual face on them. Check them out they are all the same guy.

Some of the stickers bothered me. I didn't like when they were used as headlights (like on the Thunder Machine). I also preferred them to be printed on a clear background.

Lol, I grew up with the original GI Joe. Have you ever took a close look at his hands?!?! Try getting him to actually hold a pistol or a rifle. How did he pass the draft board?!?! The army needed fodder for the Vietnam era kids to train their little minds in the art of backyard battles that’s how!!! Kill a commie for your mommie!!! Hoorahhhh!!! Actually I wasn’t that critical of my toys as I grew up when we had to walk up hill both ways to school in snow over our heads and 50 mile an hour wind in our face. Did I mention we did that barefoot?

Yeah, I didn't know how bad straight arms were until swivel-arm, and there was no going back after that. Then later we got the head that could move down, and I realized how bad Star Wars figures were lol.

WHAT.
I had no idea about that. I hated broken thumbs and crotches. I hated not being able to get Lady Jaye because my local stores never had her, or Scarlett, Ripcord, Stalker and Torpedo because I wasn't into "AF" in 1985 and when 'Action Force' relaunched in 1987, they didn't bring those guys back. I, too, hated the wings and gear on the Skystriker being linked. I hated when my Dragonfly's rotor mechanism bust. I hated the weird way everyone said "Action Force" or "Full Force" in the videos of Arise, Serpentor, Arise and Action Force the movie due to the poor overdubbing. |

I hated how hard it was to put the Silver Mirage together. I got it one Christmas. The cycle body refused to snap together. It was such a let down.
My biggest let down was not knowing Action Force was really GI Joe until the 90s with the introduction of the internet.

As a kid I detested repaints. Tan Clutch, Mission Brazil set etc. I thought they were terrible and wouldn’t own one. Now I love repaints.
Never liked Cobra La, still don’t. And can’t stand that 86 feature cartoon. Most vehicles past 86 were pretty wonky, the only one that I appreciated was the Warthog. The Imp, and Pogo for some reason worked for me. Can’t really say why. I hated Raptor as a kid even though I had him. But as an adult he works for me. I use him as a part of Destro’s Druid mask cult. I love the idea of Destro raising his own army but felt that with the exception of the Iron Grenadier troops the rest of his troops and vehicles were very uninspired.
