Thanks!
And the last member of the team, Big Ben v2. The original Big Ben figure was so awesome that I would have taken him repainted in pretty much any color, this version didn’t come with all of the great accessories that the carded original came with but the color scheme was so unique that he’s still a really great figure. By far the most difficult of the International Action Force team to make. Because of the trouble I ran into with Red Star, I started Big Ben by putting down several thin wet brush layers to start Big Ben’s jacket & boots. Then to keep the orange from being too bright I did a wash on the pants, shirt & hat. To help with the paint rub because this hobby store paint doesn’t love grabbing to the WW2 figures for whatever reason I followed Kuh Rupht’s advice and used a sealer on the body after I finished painting him. Definitely can use a few more coats to cover some areas that I missed & to retouch up the joints and seal those but i didn’t get any paint rub while putting on the gear so thanks for all of the suggestions! It helped so much! Full marauder build, just with a lot of fun paint colors added.

And group shots of the International Action Force!
Such a fun group to put together, love being able to see the original o-ring versions & their new modern updates side by side. Another group that I never would have thought I’d have in the modern collection so I’m happy to have been able to find a way to get them all done. Really love making full teams so couldn’t be more excited to see this finished group on my shelf.

Thanks, appreciate it! I was a little worried about his color scheme going in but couldn’t be happier with how the orange pants & maroon jacket combo worked, haha.

You nailed the entire team and your last addition, Big Ben looks perfect.
How did you do Big Ben’s hat without the star? I don’t remember them selling it.

Nice job completing your International Force sub-team. All of the figures are very easily recognizable as the characters they were made to represent. And in agreement with Yeet, that photo of the four figures in the poses of their original counterparts is fantastic! Kudo, bro!

Haha, it’s the Russian one turned around, the Star is hidden on the back of it. I was worried that there’d be something up with it that it wouldn’t work flipped & I’d have to get the Joeclub head cast to do him but was pleasantly surprised that just wearing the hat backwards worked! Quote:

-Todd Shakka85 Haha, I’ve been thinking about doing that photo ever since I realized I wasn’t just stopping at v2 Budo so glad everyone is enjoying it! The mail order & store catalogue shots were always things that I loved staring at so it’s so much fun getting to test my hand at recreating some of them.

Since my original plan of adding a female member to the International Action Force turned out to be a bust for now, we’ll close out the week with an easy, no paint custom that I put together a while ago.
Actually started thinking about this guy again after seeing Kuh Rupht’s awesome green version in the “never made” custom thread. http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...character.html Since this guy was more of a one off he’s never really had a prime spot on any of my shelves or gotten into any decent pictures so this was a good push to get him some action. Like how he looks with the tan / brown Joes in these pictures so they’ll probably be his group moving forward. Body is a full, unpainted Marauder build with the head from (I believe) an extra Tomahawk / Eaglehawk Lift Ticket. 2000’s era Sparks.
