Hi everyone, I finally bought a USS Flagg & I have everything except the yellow tow motor cover. I know this is a hard part to find. Id settle for a repro if it came down to it until I can find the real vintage piece. Any help from some experienced Joe collectors is appreciated. I've just recently gone after my old figures and started collecting again. Thanks for any ideas or help.

I have Zap's repro engine cover, and even without paint, white, still looks pretty cool on the vehicle.
I may never paint it. (also trying to match that orange-yellow will be hard.)

Someday I will join in the awesomeness of this thread lol. My plan was to buy an approximately 80% complete Flagg from a dealer at one of the local comic cons this year. He has been bringing it every year for the last 3-4 years. But the cancellation of such events has put that on hold thus far lol

Tonight, on my 45th birthday, I join my fellow collectors as I take a seat in the great hall in the pantheon of Joe greatness.
Never having owned a Flagg I wasn’t very knowledgeable about the vehicle. I had educated myself on many videos but never felt confident buying a used one. Would I be able to spot repro pieces, glued, repaired, or painted pieces, would I know if a piece or two was missing? If I bought a sealed one to easy my concern would I dare ever open it and lose the value? After much searching I found this gem. It was opened, and the box has some water stains, and a bit of damage. It mega phone was missing and that was cool with me. The vehicle was never assembled, decals never applied, (obviously I’ll have to get new ones though) and none of the parts bags were ever opened! All of the deck pins, fan tail railing, y pins, etc are all still on the parts tree. As someone who wanted to open a mint one this was ideal! I get one, no yellowing, no stressed plastic, no broken tabs, no missing pieces. And at half the price of what a sealed one goes for. For me this was the best of both worlds.

Thanks Brother! I will for sure but I may not throw her together for a bit. I lost or damaged a lot of my childhood toys during a home renovation. The house I live in now is a 1920s realty house (think of the Bunker house from All in the family) so I’ll want to gut her and restore her first. I just don’t want to have to take the Flagg apart and put her back to get her again. I’ve read that it can damage the deck pins.

If using repro stickers don't use RattlerRepros, he's an ass and his deck stickers don't fit exactly right you'll have problems-just read some of the other threads. Go with Toyhax instead. Although what I really recommend & wish everyday that I had done it myself is use the original set if possible! Believe me no repro set will EVER compare to the originals. I was happy with mine for the most part (I used Toyhax) but the thing that still bugs meee is the repro's can't match that fluorescent yellow color of that line down the deck. Everything else looks OK but that damn yellow line from the repro's just looks 'off' or dull. It dosent pop like the original set which is how I remember having this as a boy. I wish I knew of a clever way to make my original set still stick-I'd redo my deck so that the yellow line really pops
