That's awesome, buddy. This is among my favorites of your work.
He was my primary Duke, as well. I've been trying to put together a recipe for him with Hasbro parts, but without ripping off Ian (that's probably the one you saw, as well). Was originally waiting on the red t shirt torso from MTF for this, but have since re-assigned it to another project. Anyway, fantastic work.

Thanks! Didn’t realize this version of Duke was so popular, assumed everyone just liked V1 the most. The original had a broken crotch by the time he got to me so this version was who led my Joes more often than not.
Thanks, appreciate it! Glad he’s a hit! Quote:

Same, was waiting for t-shirts for a number of guys but once confirming with Marauder John that some colors weren’t coming, I was all in on rolled sleeves. It was Ian’s! Thanks! Didn’t realize / remember that he used an 86 vest on his, thought it was all Hasbro parts. Good to take another look because I was on the fence about painting the top pads brown but he did it on his so it’s easy to see how both ways come out now. Love his shot of Duke riding the missile launcher, haha. Have to see what parts I’m missing for that, this Duke went through quite a few moves so I know I lost his helmet & some launcher parts. Definitely check out Ian’s too if you haven’t, big thumbs up for the inspiration, his version is awesome!: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...parks-ian.html Edit: At second glance, he made a new rocket out of RoC parts! That pic is so epic. Haha. He’s gonna have me digging through all my launchers now trying to do something similar.

I just went through this whole thread from page one. I was out of Joe by the time most of these hit, but wow, what an introduction! Awesome work on all, but I really like the Ninja Force Flint. Didn't even know he existed but now I want to build one too, lol.

Thanks! That Ninja Commando group was so fun to make, I would have loved it if they brought that Flint to production. As always, thanks, I appreciate it!

Next up on what I think is just gonna be Get Tough week now, haha, is another of my absolute favorites. Actually got the original figure at a flea market when I was younger and went years not knowing if the previous owner swapped his arm out or if he really did come with one badass silver arm. Haha, it wasn’t until the internet that I actually confirmed that it was his real build.
Version 2 Mercer. Always loved the character growing up and I was a huge fan of the movie so I loved seeing him action with Sarge, a Falcon and the rest of the Renegades. Another full Marauder build with some silver paint added to the vest. This is one that I had built for years now, he probably started with the original marauder vest & goatee head and he keeps getting more & more detail as I go because he was one of my pre-painting built Joes. He’s funny because my brother & I keep going back and forth with making tweaks to our versions of the character so we’re constantly adding to him. He started out as Mercer as an unmasked Viper but is slowly transitioning to look closer to the o-ring version. Since he was one of my favorite pre-painting customs that I did, I wanted to get good shots taken of him before I started adding the additional details. Probably will be one you’ll see updated pics of at some point.

Love this version. This was the last o-ring I remember wanting but never got my hands on it. Thought it was cool he was from Richmond (me, too).
I started scaling back in my MTF joe builds, but kept my v2 Mercer build. Anyway, solid work. Your builds just seem to pop off the screen.
