That's hard for me to believe, mostly because Gary Goggles told me o-rings and their construction is far more expensive than a modern era figure.
I hope I'm wrong, I would LOVE to see o-rings again in a retro line, hopefully with retro packaging like the Star Wars line... but those guys are 5 POA. O-rings are 12 POA? With rivet and a metal t-bar, screw and rubber band. I also don’t see Hasbro investing in new tooling for o-ring figures, when they have a huge inventory of parts from 2009-2016. Quote:

Yeah but no existing og tooling didn’t stop us from getting a lot of og vehicles retooled for the 25th line. Existing tools can’t be that much of an issue, it’s just a matter of the cost per figure for recreating those tools. We got a Vamp, MoBAT, Ram, Armadillo, Awe Striker, Hiss, Rattler, Claw, Fang, Trouble Bubble, Flak Cannon, Water Moccasin, Stinger, and so on in 2008. It all comes down to cost.
If 13 bucks is all it will cost count me in for the entire 82-94 line up. If the packing looks straight up vintage I’ll probably grab 2x of each. If not then just the one set to open. For a straight up vintage rerelease LF the ARAH line I’d go as far as $25 a pop.

The biggest issue there is the re-tooling, in terms of expense. That would mean brand new molds for every part of every single figure, which is a significant cost.

I understand 5 POA on retro SW, since those were the originals anyway. But 5 POA on G.I. Joe is unacceptable. Those drivers that came with the Vamp and vehicles in the last toys were horrendous. I would have rather for them to leave out the driver. Hasbro has a tendency, lately, to cheap out on the quality of the toys, raise the prices and then reward their top executives with ridiculous bonuses. All they achieve is short term profits while diminishing the value of their intellectual properties.
