I'm confident that one of those figures is indeed storm shadow.

You actually think they'd answer? It's Hasbro policy to disavow knowledge of any product that hasn't been solicited or revealed, even if they know everyone has seen the leaks. With nothing but some codename listings there's no way in hell they'd talk about that product until they had a press release ready.

That makes sense, and other than the Viper and Alley Viper, I can't think of any other mismatches (though there are likely more I'm just not thinking of.)
Though if that's the case, it makes me wonder why they didn't do more of the re paints in the early 2000's. We did get a lot, but nowhere near what we could've, and the ones that were used got a TON of use, like the '84 Firefly and Big Ben. I think I'm going to spend a bit of time this evening and tomorrow and compile a list of molds that were still in use from 97-10. |

I wouldn't go as far back as '97. Hasbro (allegedly) wanted the '86 Hawk for the 2002 repaints, last seen in '97, and couldn't find it. They eventually recreated the torso and waist for a comic pack. The original Lady Jaye mold was last used, in decent shape, for the 2003 convention set, but by the time they got to comic packs, Hasbro made a whole new mold. Even when they were using these molds, some went missing. Still, the guesswork is so much FUN to me.

I'd actually thought about that, but I went ahead and put them on all the same here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-new-post.html

At the very least, new designs/fresh sculpts in the vintage/o-ring fashion. I'm tired of being asked to buy toys from the eighties. I wish people wouldn't support those type of lines. With Joe as the only exception, those lines sucked when they came out. Real Ghostbusters? Why does anyone want to buy those? I, for one, don't get it.

I'm hoping this, as well, but expect it will be o-ring repros, as is widely postulated.

On the other hand, if these are a ReAction type line, I'm out. That works for some properties, especially those that'd otherwise not be produced, but not GIJoe. |
