Don't get me wrong, that period was marginally better than Extreme was, and there were some gems hidden in there, but outside of the re used ARAH figures, they were pretty disappointing, and partially responsible for me disregarding ME when they were on shelves. |

The first wave sold out almost instantly. Hasbro's also producing retro Kenner Ghostbusters figures which they had to remake since Hasbro dumped a large percentage of their old tools years ago. That's also why I think comparing what Hasbro produced 20 years ago is moot. The Club stopped using o-ring figures because Hasbro had the tools destroyed, not out of any overt desire to switch to the ME format. And if they're going to have to remake tools, there is NO limitation on what they could, potentially, produce.

The thing I'm curious about, and many here have talked about it, is whether all the old molds truly were lost or destroyed as commonly believed. Would Hasbro invest in the tooling for a new mold of v1 Duke? I'm not sure. Retro could be a 6" classics line but I don't think they would do that at the price on the Walmart website. |

Nostalgia is the rage right now and I think o-rings returning to stores is a definite possibility.

Would Hasbro invest in the tooling for a new mold of v1 Duke? I'm not sure. Retro could be a 6" classics line but I don't think they would do that at the price on the Walmart website. However, it was more than 20 years ago that they started reissuing those, and technology has advanced a lot since then. I imagine it'd be far easier to replicate them now than it would've been then. The Ghostbuster reissues are a pretty good example if the mold situation is the same, as mentioned above. The GB line also lends some credit to the idea that these are o-ring, in terms of price point at least. I can't find it now, but i seem to remember them being listed between $12-16 somewhere when they were announced. |

Original Series, SpyTroops, Joe vs Cobra, Sigma Six, 25th Anniversary (modern era) is what I would consider the 'eras' of GIJOE |

It’s really too bad that there isn’t someone at one of the toy podcasts or websites who could just ask Hasbro what this is.
