The Acid Rain 1:24 stuff seems to be by a company called Beaver, but I don't know anything about them or the scale.
Oritoy and TA have both been in on the 1:18 line. Last edited by jabalong; 10-11-2019 at 07:53 PM.. |

Beaver is the original 'work' version of the Stronghold Tank.

Does anyone know, are the space prisoner and space scientist the same mold, just different paint?

Incidentally I finally finally bought a Space Prisoner and got it this week, love it. I feel like I really harshly judged Acid Rain when I got my then-only figure, Bob, because I found him again in his bin last week and he was much better than I thought at the time. I just wish they weren't like ~$30 a pop for these though. |

In the interim, the American independent 3.75" companies have come along (Boss Fight, Marauder, Chicken Fried, etc) with high (and in some cases rising) prices, while Acid Rain prices have risen at a slower pace, so that now they're not far apart at all. But of course, if we're comparing Acid Rain (or any of these other lines) to mass-market retail figures, then sure they are still a premium product. Speaking of which, if you're just looking for an astronaut type, Fortnite's Dark Voyager is beautiful, though it's also at a premium as sold in a pinata (though maybe you can snag it alter on sale). Also Planet Green Valley has shown off some exquisite-looking astronaut prototypes, but those are probably some ways off (assuming the company gets through its initial teething pains). All that said, the Acid Rain astronaut is still something special, just in terms of the heft of it along with the gritty look and feel. It's really unique. I love it and have four of them. |

Soil Ghosts have also been at the top of my wishlist for years and I've grumbled about it too. Last year I think it was I bumped into the guy who heads up Oritoy and I asked him about it. He suggested the Soil Ghosts were complicated figures to get done right and they were going to focus on getting the simpler Omangans out first. But since Toys Alliance came into the picture, they're able to push forward on more fronts at once it seems (although this seems like a LOT of prototypes on the go right now!). Hopefully Soil Ghosts gets queued up, as they've made good progress at least in prototype form and seem like they could be finished designs (if there is such a thing with Kit). |
