Could you go into your drilling and refilling process, I have dabbled in simple grinding/drilling heads to sit better on neck pegs, but drilling and refilling is next level.

On some figures not the CT, may also have to carve out under the chin of the head for better final up down movement. You work from the backside of the head cuttingbwawy stuff never visible. |

I should have read your post more thoroughly, as it sounds ypu ,essed with the basics. So instead of ball drilling upward into the head, you drill horizontally towards the faceleaving you with more of a round slot rather than a round hole. Then fill the back with you filler of choice. Most use poster tac, but I go with modeling clay left unbaked.

COBRA COMMANDER REDUX:
Usually a mini-project like the previous one (repainting the Cobra Guard webgear from tan to gold) lead me to some other ideas. In this case the Guard repaint converged with another mini-project to yield two more mini-projects. A week before doing the Guard repaint, I put together a Cobra 25th Anniversary Battle Pack repacked with 30th/50th figures as a concept 40th release (found in this thread: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-hasbro.html): gCobra_25th_BattlePack1-40thRedux_2019-0707ab by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr When putting the pack and photos together, I realized that in my stash I happened to have 2nds of each the five figures that could actually stay in this package permanently for display in box—except one: the blue Cobra Commander. I extra one I had (found at Tuesday Morning during the good times) I converted to a dark blue hooded Commander. The other extra was the 50th black and red version, sitting around looking goofy with those red booties and gloves. 2019-08-04_03-11-42 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr The initial idea after repainting one of the Cobra Guards was for me to repaint the other guard to match, and take some photos of them flanking Cobra Commander, favoring my dark blue hooded version due to his gold trims. But my hooded Commander had built up a lot of dust that wasn’t easily brushing away, and his gold didn’t really match the Guards. He needed to be cleaned up. gCobra_25th_82-3p1_2019-0723aa by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Since I needed to repaint by dark blue hooded Commander anyway, and I also wanted a second light blue Commander to keep in the Battle Pack box, it seemed to make sense to paint strip my old dark blue hooded one back to light blue, and repaint the 50th black one into a new dark blue version that better matched the Guards. gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722cb by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722ab by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Instead of my usual Citadel Kantor Blue, this this time I went with Tamiya Flat Blue for something slightly different and maybe smoother (to help with the dust). And using the black body as a base instead of light blue below the paint app would likely lead to nice final hue. gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722bb by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722db by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr As part of the repainting, I also wanted to see if I could incorporate a few of the awesome details found in HissTanker azrael13’s epic/definitive/classic Atkins Design Cobra Commander (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ns-design.html). And while during the painting process, I finally got a hold of some Tamiya Clear Yellow Paint intended for converting some Cobra Viper chrome faceplates gold--inspired by a recent photo by HissTanker MightyMegs (Wes: you never posted that pic here on these forums, and you should because it’s sharp). Trying to get more uses out of the paint bottle, I tried the stuff on an extra Commander faceplate, and it looked pretty neat. I tried this gold head on my new Commander and really liked the results—it looked weirdly off and different, new yet strangely familiar. I knew I had seen it before but couldn’t remember where. After some googling, I found that OreoBuilder himself had done something similar in 2016 based on the unreleased original concept figure meant for 1997 (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...eobuilder.html). So major props to OB on this figure as well. gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722eb by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722ec by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Initial pics above use the clear yellow straight out of the bottle. In pics below, he was repainted slightly using a little bit of red resulting a more orangey/bronze gold closer to the gold hue used for his uniform trim and that of the guards. gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722fb by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722fd by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Stay tuned for more pics with Commander and his guards. Well, one guard—once the Commander was complete, another idea sprang to mind… gCobra_25th_82-CobraCommander_2019-0722fe by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr

Maj Bludd v10, which are the same as Maj Bludd v09. Both have different knees pieces, and both don't look great on CC. So Maj B's knees were heated and swapped out for this CC's knees. May only work when using the 50th black version since the knee back discs are a little large--the rubberiness of 50th figures is actually a good thing for once (though causes a little bowleg effect). Feet are kinda thin and long and might also be swapped out at some point.
