I'm thinking I'd like to keep my loose figures stored in a manner that makes it handy to get them out when I want to dink about with one or more of them and then put 'em away again quickly. I'd like to find something that will store figures & their accessories in individual compartments and doesn't take up gobs of room. Maybe something like a tackle box sort of thing with individual cubbies for each figure or a bolt n' nut chest type deal with separate little "drawers"...any suggestions? Thanks!

I use Stack On brand 60 drawer cases: https://www.stack-on.com/product-cat...rage-cabinets/
The gray ones aren't too expensive, don't take up too much room, and can be hung on the wall

Old snake's idea works better convenience wise if you exchange figures into long term storage and those boxes for short term regularly. The Stack On is space inefficient in the longrun. |

This is not exactly what you wanted but this is how I keep my Figures.
All individual figures go in acid free zip bags from Ultra Zip. I buy the bags with the white bands on them so can hand label them with a sharpie, especially if they are incomplete. I keep the figures in their baggies in 6 qrt Sterelite clasp bin containers. You can get them by the case on Amazon or singly for just a 2.50 bucks at Target. They have a the Plum colored clasps. They are about the size of a shoe box, in fact I suspect that that’s what they are intended for. Depending on the figures’ accessories you can get about 30-ish figures in there. Less for figures like Data Viper. The reason I use these is that for almost all of the cheap plastic shelving units that you find for like 29 bucks at your local big box mart home improvement store, you can get exactly 12 bins per shelf. 4 across and 3 high. 360 figures per shelf. 4 shelves per rack. If you don’t have 1200+ figures you can use the lower shelf for vehicles etc. Slap a label on the facing end of each bin and you are a highy organized collector. If concerned about accessories get smaller zip bag to put with the figure in the larger bags. But with 30 or less figures per bin, lined head to toe perpendicular along the narrow length of the bin the figures will stack about 3-4 high but it’s not enough to damage any accessories. Even fragile bayonets like vintage Airborne’s will be safe. Small bins = less figures per bin= less damage to you gear. Hope this helps. The bins are 2.50, the shelving unit’s used to be about 30. You can go cheap or high end on the zip bags but if you go cheap I’d swap them out every few years to avoid the acid form aging your figures.

The bins fit so perfectly that it’s like 12 little drawers per shelf like one of those Apothecary cabinets.

Acid Free bags put in those exact shoe box bins. I put my figures standing up though. For my Cobra Army Builders, I use the bigger flat 8 gallon bins. https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-1...l/-/A-13794492 If you stand them up, you can get about 130-150 figures in each one. I separate my factions with cardboard inserts. These bins are bigger than the Shoe bins, but a good way to store army builders if you went a little crazy on them like I did.

OOh, Acid Free bags. I get mine from GTZip at wholesale pricing. (One Per Case, a blog years ago recommended them.)

I got the 3x5 4 mil bags. The 4 mil is the thickest they have. The 4x6 bags would work too. Especially for the figures with ski's or a crap load of accessories.
