Thanks for the responses everyone!

I use the modern 2011-present Hiss Tanks versions, like the Retaliation ones or the 30th and POC hisstanks.
The Cobra Rage or Fury will work. There's a bunch of cool stuff like the Parasyte. (might be a bit too apc like) Maybe something like this for anti-tank? https://www.yojoe.com/sgtsavage/panther.shtml Quote:

I love the Retaliation HISS (I've got a half-dozen of 'em), but I think in "real life" you'd need two or three of any HISS to go up against one Mauler (assuming the Mauler really is an Abrams equivalent, and not a light tank like a Sheridan). That's where the Rattler comes in for Cobra.

My first response is the HISS, but to fit your criteria I would say the Crimson Attack Tank.

I would think cobra does not have much need for a mbt, since they have so many HISS tank versions, they could just overwhelm them in numbers, or call in a bunch of rattlers. But if the need arose, the CAT and CAT II would be able to handle it. Just curious, would anyone consider the Mauler repaint the was supposed to happen for the con a legit cobra vehicle, or since it didn't happen just disregard it?

I can't explain why, but i don't really like the modern HISS that much. Maybe it's just because it looks too hi-tech compared to many of the other vehicles.
I am no armor expert, that wasn't my field in the service, but I don't see those newer HISS tanks as MBTs. That is not to say with the right weaponry (30 mm DPU cannons and TOW missiles) that they couldn't successfully engage MBTs and prevail, but as Bazooka learned, farmboys with disposable rockets can engage tanks and win and they are not MBTs. I tend to go with the other guys, that Cobra doesn't use MBTs, light fast moving vehicles with TOWs and such can be really dangerous for tanks. In WWII, the allies used half track tank destroyers that were very lightly armored but had a gun capable of getting mobility kills on tanks. but in no way could they go into battle as a tank. That being said, if you want a Cobra MBT, maybe PTE tank, which to me gives off a Russian/warsaw pact vibe, painted in different colors would work. |

Well, you could always just stuff Cobra full of mechs instead.
If you can't have MBT superiority, going full cheese with Bats, mechs and Robots could work alongside weaker Hisstanks and COBRA apc like vehicles. It would also explain why they have so much cargo space on all their vehicles, they just dump a bunch of robots out of them armed with explosives and if they kill the enemy tanks great, if not the cobra air force and artillery will take over or the robots just advance as infantry. |

This would be a great MBT, it would have to be twice the size of a regular HISS.

I'd say Cobra doesn't have an MBT by design; it's not really in their strategy of hit-and-fade tactics. The HISS II probably is their heaviest hitter and even that is more of an IFV.
There really is very few situations where Cobra would need or be able to use an MBT. However, don't knock the IFV. Bradley IFVs destroyed far more tanks than the Abrams did during the Gulf Wars. Their drawback is a lack of armor protection. For Cobra, this is not a serious concern because anyone is expendable to achieve a goal. Also note that most of the HiSS drivers have some type of body armor - recognizing the insufficient armor on their sentry tanks. Yep, this is the only MBT I have ever seen for Cobra. |

I NEED that.
Seriously, why was a black HISS II never available at retail? The mold was around as recently as 2003, right? I'd go a little nuts army building that (although just one would make me extremely happy)

I'm definitely a fan. The CAT/CAT II does provide a precedent for Cobra to use traditional MBTs, and those look nice.
