I finally sacked up and bought a few small jars of Tamiya paints over the weekend so I can learn how to paint stuff. I'm starting on easy mode by practicing on an AVAC Red Shadows head cast. (Just cover it in red to start with!) I've also got a garbage body that I'm using for other paint/chemical tests. What's a preferred way of stripping factory paint and/or acrylic paint? And what is safe to use on resin?

Sure, I'm potentially down if you're not using them. Bear in mind I probably won't be producing any masterpieces overnight, though. BTW, did you get the message I sent you about your B/S/T fodder stuff?

I'm trying to strip factory paint--camo paint apps--from the figure's arm (probably PVC). Rubbing alcohol didn't do anything. I have it soaking in a dilution of acetone, and this has very little effect, but it does make it marginally easier to file the paint off. I think I could just paint over whatever doesn't want to come off. That's what I'm doing with the torso/legs. I might have to strip the hands, but that's easier than removing the camo. Relatedly, I'm going to be retrying acetone vapor treatment to smooth out some of my 3D printed models, now that I have a few more of the supplies necessary to create a "chamber".
