Hey! So I was looking into finally buying some paints and learning how to paint some stuff up. I remember that Testors was a recommended brand; do you guys use the acrylic, or the enamel? I get the feeling acrylic would be better for figures, but I figured I'd better ask before I invest in anything.
I was also able to find one of those chrome markers today! Since they're $12 apiece, I only bought the 2mm marker. I'll wait and see how well it works before I grab the 1mm marker.

Sup guys, morning. Any plans today?
My family was going to go blueberry picking today but oldest daughter woke up sick last night and we didn’t get much rest. Might work more on my Zartan custom instead today. I’ll post a picture if I get him finished.

Tex when is the custom contest? How far along are you on your custom? http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post5134795 ^^^ Quote:
Awesome customs RV. I read a bunch of the comics with Krake and I really started to like him and the brand had a good shot at really building a great new character but I feel like they didn’t spend enough time explaining this guy and what he is truly capable of. Quote:

As far as brands of paints go, testors is okay at certain times and I use it from time to time. I prefer testors when I’m looking for military green colors, shades of gray, and some tans. Range got me on Vallejo paints and my first experience didn’t go well but since I’ve learned a few tricks to using it and it’s becoming my go to brand. Some other brands I’ve tried are tamiya, which is okay but smells, takes longer to dry, and needs a clear coat finish or your paint on the figure will become tacky over time. Model Masters is another paint that has similar results as tamiya. Another paint brand I hear good things about but have not used is citadel paints. I will say this, one of the most important things is the brushes you use and how well/quick you clean them.
