Thanks guys.
I know what you mean about Scarlett's gloves. I think that she is good enough for now, but I'll definitely look to improve her arms and legs when I find the right parts. I also was not sure about the head since I'm used to Scarlett wearing a ponytail. However, I recently rewatched the old Marvel animated commercials and She was wearing her hair loose in those. I like the head now The MTF hands work pretty well. I have had to cut down the lenght. The pins are longer than Hasbro's. For some arms, I added a dab of hot glue in the wrist socket to tighten it up. OB Jason |

Love the SE update! the Flash sculpt stirrup pants really bring it back to 1982.
you've probably already thought of this - but what about incorporating the dynamite leg attachment form the 50th Cobra officer: Cobra Officer (v11) G.I. Joe Action Figure - YoJoe Archive Offhand I'm not sure if its the same sculpt from Retaliation Firefly's webgear (9http://www.yojoe.com/action/13/firefly26.shtml) or not, but the 50th CO is already meant as a leg attachment and is cast in black. He'd loook great with a black 25th shoulder bag Explosives pack too. Quote:
Or the C4 pack from Marauder.

OB said, "The original figure had different legs from the rest of the Joes, so that was the only real difference in the custom recipe."
Yeah the unique part of O13 Snake Eyes' legs were the thighs. The right leg had two small pockets and the left leg had some sort of explosive. I'm thinking with that satchel charge accessory he came with Hasbro intended for SE to be some kind of demolitions expert. Great update to O13 Snake Eyes, but if I were to suggest anything, it would be to change out the thighs. Like the quote at the top says, those Flash calves/pants legs are perfect for the stirrup look of the O13 figure (Flash, Grand Slam & Snake Eyes all shared the same calves/boots), but I think it would look even better to swap out the thighs and utilize the explosive from the female Cobra Officer. Speaking of Cobra Officer . . . you can't just leave your fans hanging with the O13. Please, please, please do an homage update to the Cobra Officer, Cobra, and Cobra Commander!! Jason Right now, my Cobra Commander, Officer and Trooper that complete the 1986 ''OG16'' are the SDCC Missile Command HQ figures. They are surprisingly vintage accurate and fit in very well with my new 82 Joes. OB

Thank guys and thank you Jason for posting the link. GS was revealed a while back before I started this project. That’s why he is missing. He had a thread earlier this year, so it must be several pages back by now
I’m planning to post the next custom later today, stay tuned! OB

With the OG13 done, it's time to change tracks. Hardball is next. Enjoy!

I am selfishly pleased that all your amazing custom goodness will be in one thread, although I'm sorry for the hassle; several of my old threads are destroyed because of Photobucket, and I haven't had it in me to deal within the mess.
I love your work! |

I don't remember exactly what started my interest in G.I. Joe. I only know that I was very fortunate to have the entire 1982 single carded figure run when I was 6 years old. Don't remember if I saw one on peg and asked for it or if one of my parents brought one home as a surprise.
All I do remember is the excitement I felt placing all the gear on them and playing with these unbelievable action figures that stole all the interest I had in Star Wars and He-Man at the time. This collection has taken me back 35 years. Your work in recreating that run is brilliant. Thanks for bringing back the memories. |

I love reading your comments about G.I. Joe in your childhood. It really makes the customs more personable.
Great Hardball custom! Like you, I had grown out of toy collecting by the time this original figure was released, but he's such a great looking character, especially with that multi-shot grenade launcher, that he's almost one of the obligatory characters. Great choice on the torso. It really does look like a baseball jersey. Jason |
