I like it, it would look nice having it at the top of your display like it is flying overhead
Nice find and nicer improvements!

Thanks! I had hopes of eventually doing a minifig scale aircraft carrier; but a USS Flagg in the same scale as the Night Raven and mini jets (1/64?) may be more plausible on my meager budget.
I've recently had to take all of my shelving units down, in order to remove old nasty carpeting from the room. All the individual kreons that were not on my battlescape baseplate displays, (or already in vehicles) have been gathered up in a large Kreo (Star Trek ship face-off set) box. Now that I've got the work done, my shelving units have been reinstalled. I have unfortunately had to haphazardly throw all the battlescape baseplates and vehicles back on them, not having time in order to recreate my individual set ups. We are making plans to possibly move in the next year, so I had thoughts of just packing everything away until after the move. The good news is that I get over irrational impulses like that fairly quickly ;) |

I advise against packing it all up because you know something will happen that makes your move two years from now instead of one. If you leave it all out it means you will move six months ahead of schedule. Its like guaranteeing sunshine when you bring your umbrella

Hey thanks, microscale might also fit well if I decided to do an HO slot car track in the near future. Hmm, my dreams could be realized sooner than anticipated! Anyone have any thoughts on that idea?
Well for now I do have quite a few other projects I am still actively working on. Some of you may remember me mentioning my WIP F4 Phantom in these threads, but I don't remember ever showing it, or even the original flickr page. Here's my inspiration for the F4 Phantom. https://www.flickr.com/photos/legoha...n/photostream/ F4 Phantom II 02 by Tyler, on Flickr F4 Phantom II 03 by Tyler, on Flickr F4 Phantom II 01 by Tyler, on Flickr This thing has that short, lego-ish feel to it and just grabs you visually. As soon as I saw it, I had to try to make my own. Still incomplete at this point, but here's what I've come up with so far. sorry for all the dust :( I've had to wait on some rare parts to become available (in my price range), but my persistence will be paying off. I went with tan instead of dark tan, so that could be some issue with the part availability. I have just picked up the few remaining pieces needed; so now I will be able to complete this model in the near future. What's not shown is another whole bag of parts that includes the all the armament, and the remaining side intake and exhaust panels. So what do you guys think of it so far? |

I know the landing gear isn't very accurate as per the toy, but I have made it closer to how the real gear deploys. The rear wheels fold up and turn in, just like a real F14's would. I was forced to make some hinged bump-outs in order to house the gear, but I think it works.
The front gear was another challenge, and unfortunately this was the best I could come up with for the moment. I am sure others with much more experience than I, would have no trouble coming up with a better looking option ;) I also did a color variation of the mini Raven, just for giggles. Mini Sky Raven! =D |

Improvements to the mini Raven:
-Moved rear missile launcher things outwards, closer to wing tips. This helps them be easier to remove, by only holding with one stud. -Redesigned rear landing gear, to remove those big knobby wheels/tires. -Also went with a different design for the front setup Oh did I forget to mention the Drone?! |
