Here is where these characters placed in InspectorZartan's most-wanted modern-era Joe poll which ran through June 2016, ending with 64 winners ranked.
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...odern-era.html #11. Rampart #12. Cross Hair #21. Sub Zero #42. Dojo #46. Hardtop #48. WORMS Didn't place: Ghostrider Gullotine Weren't even nominated: Night Stalker Commander Captain Skip Windmill Vorona So, yeah, a third of these figures don't even occur to hardcore Joe fans over about a 6-month timespan of running a poll. To be fair, this shows half of these are sincerely wanted by collectors. Last edited by JediJones; 05-12-2017 at 07:15 PM.. |

Wow. This lineup SUCKS. I see one must-have in Hardtop and 2 "probably" in Sub-Zero & Dojo. Horrible. Good thing Fun Pub will be losing this license soon. They do not deserve to have it.
No Fast Draw & No Backstop pretty much guarantees that they will be attendee Con exclusives meaning non-attendees will have to shell out big bucks to fill those ARAH Holes. Simply put, screw you Fun Pub. This will be the first time I don't subscribe to an FSS and I'll be happy when you are out of business.

Otherwise though decent selection from the list of those who were on it. No Action FOrce made the list and so Skip is a decent choice from that. (This forum is VERY Amero-centric) Quote:
I'm starting to think this year's con exclusives will be Dee-Jay, Backstop, and Fastdraw for the Joes. Overkill and Hotwire for Cobra. |

Personal Opinion:
Sub-Zero - not on the top of my list, but the mockup looks very good. Is that a new Mortar with him? I don't recognize it... Night Stalker Commander - I feel this is unnecessary and could have been used for Munitia. Biggest miss of the set. Hardtop - everyone has wanted him for a while. I don't care eitherway. Toolbooth repaint guaranteed Crosshair - YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About freaking time! Best New Sculpt Era figure. (Several other good ones left) Skip - Solid choice for Action Force this year. The Union Jack is a nice touch. Ghostrider - nice trick with the name. We all knew this was coming after seeing Flagg last set. Windmill - Funskol colours? Really? WHY? Heli-backpack I'm assuming is the one from the Annihilators/MattTraker. Don't mind the figure, but why those colours (second biggest miss) Rampart - About darn time. Curious to see what they do with the figure. WORMS - Worried what the helmet will look like. But should be good. Vorona - I know may will complain as its Diana under a new code name, but Its not a bad choice IMHO. Way better than Alpine, Tan Grunt, or Tiger Force Shipwreck/Airtight Guillotine - Sad we're only getting one plague member. Seems odd not to have any others. On the whole, its a solid liineup of who'se left. NO, its not the best in the world, but we have covered the most remakable characters already. Biggest ones we're still waiting on: Backstop (If you're a convention exclusive I'm gonna murder something), Fast Draw, Blizzard, Crystal Ball, Golobulus (who we likely never get), Hardball, and Recoil. All of those other than Fast Draw and Golobulus are easy to make so hopefully we see them. Also, given they're releasing this list before Joecon for the first time ever, I suspect that we'll see an FSS 7 before the club shuts down, so there's still a good shot at getting some of these. Just curious because when I didn't see them on the list I kind of saw it as a likely nail in the coffin on ever getting them. I'm not attacking you, just would like to know the line of thinking.

I'm pretty sure it's commonly assumed we're getting one more FSS (and one more JoeCon) after this. I could see them squeezing out 2 more FSS after this one, but don't know what the official word is. |

Pulling from the poll that JJ linked that Zartan ran, we're actually doing pretty well on getting these made in general.
Red - Hasbro Yellow - Club Blue - character already made in other form White - not yet made #1. Rock N Roll (version 2) #2/3. (TIE) Fast Draw and Stalker (version 2) #4. Crystal Ball #5. Raptor #6. Gung Ho (v2-dress blues) #7. Ambush #8. Blizzard #9. Big Lob #10. Salvo #11. Rampart #12. Cross Hair #13. TARGET #14. Recoil #15. Dodger #16. Backblast #17. Heavy Duty #18. Captain Grid Iron #19/20. (TIE) Hardball and Fridge #21. Sub Zero #22. Lightfoot #23. Golobulus #24/25. (TIE) Payload/Sneak Peek (v1) #26. Downtown #27. General Flagg (the original) #28. Laser Viper #29. Countdown #30. Head Hunters #31/32. (TIE) Snake Eyes (LRRP- Classified)/Steamroller #33. Roadblock (Renegades) #34. Backstop #35. Crimson Twins (business suits) (KINDA) #36/37. (TIE) Budo/Overlord #38. Stretcher #39. Cobra La Royal Guard #40. Scoop #41. Munitia #42. Dojo #43. Footloose (Slaughter's Marauders version) #44. Cobra Soldier (female) #45. Hydro Viper #46. Hardtop #47. Maverick #48. WORMS #49. Mutt (Slaughters Marauders) #50. Avalanche #51. Roadblock (v4-Battle Corps) #51. Dart #53. Headman #54. Dogfight #55. Tracker #56. Overkill #57. Torpedo (cammies/Marvel Yearbook 4) #58. Those blues don't mean anything. That is a poll of figures, not characters. If we never get that #1, #2b and #6, people will be sorely disappointed. At least Hasbro by all accounts came very close on #1 last year, meaning it's probably still on the short list.
This poll shows why the currently shipping FSS is much more popular and well-received with 6 in the top 40 and 3 in the top 10. This FSS needed a top 10 character to not be seen as a disappointment. No Crystal Ball or Fast Draw is a big miss. Last edited by JediJones; 05-12-2017 at 07:34 PM.. |

How are we supposed to "still get" Fast Draw, Blizzard, Crystal Ball, etc. if this is indeed the final FSS? Are you basing that solely on an FSS 7 assumption?
Just curious because when I didn't see them on the list I kind of saw it as a likely nail in the coffin on ever getting them. I'm not attacking you, just would like to know the line of thinking. ALso there are the convention exclusives this year, and next, along with the con set, the signup figure for next year, and whatever additional sets they make (like Biggles Jones,or the female trooper 3 pack, or whatever replaces the Joe/TF crossovers). So at a total minimum 33 more figures coming (15 con set, 10 exclusives over 2 years, 1 membership figure, and lets say 5 exclusives outside FSS) Possibly as many as 46. Those won't ALL be new characters but even if they pull the 7 identical figure thing again, and do a 3 pack troop builder, that's 25-35+ new characters to be released before their licence expires. Who they are depends on tooling and selection. But there's still a decent chance on many of these. |
