It has occured to me why I can never find the latest GI Joe figures when I go to the stores. By reading all of the other threads from our fellow customizers. Its apparent by reading their receipes on how they created the master pieces we all love and long for. They use extra body parts from various figures and add to their parts boxes, which I cannot locate anywhere. They actually buy more than one ( which is our god given right to do so ) and thus making it hard for me to enjoy collecting newer figures. I guess I just have to be patient and wait till they are done creating their amazing works of art for me to get an Airbourne or even catch a glimpse of any of the new resolute figures. Either way I just want to wish everyone Great New Year in 2009.

I feel the pain. I am now without Airborne due to the custom Steel Brigade I just made for a friend. I had an extra, abut he was missing Airborne too, so I'm giving him that too. I just couldn't give him the Steel Brigade custom made FROM Airborne, knowing he didn't HAVE Airborne.
So now, I don't have Airborne. Quote:

There are 4 targets, 5 wal marts 2 kohls and 1 Kmart in my vicinity. They always say the same thing. "Sorry man some guy came this morning and bought them all up!" I'm a patient man I know I will get them some day.

pre ordering is the way to go, reduces your stress big time.
And if you get lucky enough to find them on the shelves cancel. I have been doing this since the line started and only had to cancel 3 times, because it is pretty bad in my area to find anything new. |

I know how you feel. I work for Walmart and I have that problem of getting new stuff, but its not from customers. It's from a fellow employee. I usually leave in the evening and he works till 10 or 11 PM, so before he leaves the toy pallets are already on the floor and he'll grab the boxes of Joes on the way out. After he did this and put the stuff on eBay several times I told him I was going to forward his listings to management. So now he's been at least letting me know what comes in and he'll keep a box aside in the back, I grab my collection and he'll either try to eBay the rest or just stocks it on the shelf depending on how new the stuff is. But I have learned a trick or two working at Walmart in regards to how often we get shipments and how to get rid of pegwarmers. It works really well when you have several Walmarts in your area. What I do is I buy one figure a piece of the pegwarmers and return them to another Walmart. I will usually get gift receipts just to make it look like they're supposed to be gifts and just tell the return clerk that the person already has the figures when they ask why I'm returning them. I'll just keep doing this until our stock is gone and within a few days we get new shipments in. But one thing to keep an eye out for is the taxes. If you buy something at 8.75% and return to a store thats 7.00% you will lose that tax money, but if you reverse that and go from lower to higher tax you can make a quick couple cents depending on the difference.

It sounds like you are already talking to some of the employees at these places. Find out when they stock items and go during those times. It is best if you can show up when they open because most places have to be restocked before the doors open. Wal-mart traditionally stocks periodically throughout the day, just find out when.

I think someone in my fair city has a buddy that works at Target. He works at the store with my wife and is always asking her if I found the new wave of Joes and tells her he has them. One day he made the error of telling her he has a buddy working in the back at Target. So I know what his game is.. and trust me when I say he is not helping me out!! The Bastage!!!!
