And the last one made me want to vomit. I would buy a classic Blue Rattler. I wish I had gotten a second when the 25th line was out. It is a cool, iconic jet.

So is the relaunch that we have to look forward to? A redo of the Rattler that was done in 2007 already? I sympathize with those who still need the 25th one but if this is the best Hasbro can roll out then I really don't know what we have to look forward to. I was hoping they'd rerelease a AHRA vehicle that we haven't gotten in the post 2006 modern era. If there is any truth to this then it smells like another 2015 year. Which is fine I suppose but I was hoping for more than a handful of repaints and 1 newly tooled figure.

If the rumor mill turns out to be true, it will be a re-issue of the 25th Anniversary Rattler. Why would we expect anything else?

I have a really great story in relation to the Rattler. Every time my Mother took me to Toys r Us they never had the Rattler in stock. My Mom wrote to Hasbro expressing how her son so wanted this toy but we can never find it. Hasbro sent a letter back asking us to send a check in the amount of $14.99 and they would send me a Rattler. Could of been more but I don't remenber exactly. Turns out we found it a few days before we got the return letter. I wish I still had that letter from Hasbro. They really did give a shit about us back than.

Black. With red highlights. Anything else would be boring to me. In fact, besides a handful of long overdue updated modern era Joes and Cobras like Duke, Scarlett and Falcon, I don't feel the 1:18th vibe. Bring on the 6in line!

From here on out, I want straight up reissues with O-ring pilots/drivers. The 25th-style pilots they include nowadays seem to satisfy so few collectors, might as well give us fresh O-rings that actually fit in the vehicles. I loved getting a bright white Snow Job in the RoC Past & Present set to use with my vintage stuff instead of having to settle for a yellowed vintage figure. So classic blue with an O-ring Wild Weasel.
Was there any new tooling on the 25th version? I thought it was a straight-up copy of the original. |
